This is a huge loss.
He was a wonderful musician but also a wonderful human being, always respectful to everyone.
I'm very fond of his playing, always full of passion... He worked hard while playing too. I like that...
He was way too young...:-(
RIP
Greg Lake paid tribute to Gary Moore on his website saying and I quote "I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Gary Moore. Gary was not only a fellow musician but also a soul mate; ever since he played in my solo band we developed a special bond and I will miss him dearly.
May he rest in peace.
Greg Lake" end quote.
Greg used Gary on his two 1980s solo albums and had Gary as his lead guitarist on his 1981 solo tour. The King Biscuit 1981 Live CD is a perfect testament to the memory of Gary. That version of "Parisienne Highways" is probably the best I ever heard.
This is so sad, he was a great player. Rock, Metal, Blues, he was a great player and supported Queen when part of Thin Lizzy on the 1977 US tour and as a solo artist on some of the Magic tour in 86. Such a skilled player, check out Wild Frontier, Run for Cover, Still got the blues and his stuff with Thin Lizzy. Rock in Peace Gary.
