Correction. Queen is the first classic artist to topped the 2 million in digital sales.
In chronological order, they are:
1) Bohemian Rhapsody
2) We Will Rock You
3) Don't Stop Believin
4) Eye Of The Tiger
5) Billie Jean
etc.. link
You keep missing the first part of the paragraph
The oldest song that has topped 2 million in digital sales is Lynyrd Skynyrd's 1974 hit "Sweet Home Alabama." Eleven other songs that were released prior to the opening of the iTunes store in April 2003 have topped 2 million in digital sales. In chronological order, they are: Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" (1976) and "We Will Rock You" (1977), Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" (1981), Survivor's "Eye Of The Tiger" (1982), Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" (1983) and "Thriller" (1984), Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer" (1986), Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine" (1988), Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"/"What A Wonderful World" (1993), Eminem's "Lose Yourself" (2002) and Coldplay's "Clocks" (February 2003).
Irregardless, ....impressive that it's almost the oldest (released in '75, btw)
What's your quarrel with Sweet Home Alabama goodco? Musically I think it's a timeless and near perfect classic. Lyrically it's a bit maligned and misunderstood. For me it's one of those I can't imagine rock and roll history without.
Incidentally, how annoying would I be if I mentioned irregardless isn't really a proper word? Pretty annoying? OK, nevermind. ;)
OK, Gfan, you got me.
Or did you? link
Always a fan of Sparky Anderson, so sometimes I still use the 'double negative' inspite of being told not to.
As to 'Sweet Home Alabama'.....I liked Leonard Skinner back then. And the song. Not anymore. I'll just leave it at that.
Now, back to the news and the shootings in Tuscon, Arizona.

In spite is two words. Ha ha.
My hope is for you to be literate! If you're literate in English grammar, then you comprehend English grammar. The majority of people, who reside in District-8, are illiterate — hilarious. I don't control your English grammar structure, but you control your English grammar structure.
The above is what the alleged AZ killer wrote on YouTube. Really. So, uh, just be glad it was me who pointed out the quasi incorrect 'irregardless' and not him. I might have shot you down, but I didn't like shoot you down. ;)
I hate making mistakes in the language. I still have a visceral recollection of my Grade 10 English teacher carving a big red slash between the 'a' and the 'l' in the word alot [sic] on an essay I submitted. TWO WORDS! she roared, in that same scarlet hand. Pretty silly thing to be traumatized over. In fact, my spell checking browser is retraumatizing me right now, also in red, over that word alot. I'll need a brief cry after this post.
In more recent years a friend in Colorado admonished me for writing 'Daylight Savings Time' rather than 'Daylight Saving Time', and twisted the knife by cooly saying he 'was surprised to have seen that from me". F him, right? It still makes me mentally blush. Ha ha.
So, wasn't trying to get you. Just thought you might want to know there is a section of the population that's going to quietly recoil at 'irregardless'. It's used just enough that one can easily get through life without knowing there is any issue surrounding the word at all. I like the Urban Dictionary's take on the whole thing: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=irregardless

How could I do yet another mistake? For years, like Murphy Brown went through secretaries, I go through proofreaders;-)
I will start practicing what I preached from now on, and use Word spell-check after this post.
Ah, yes, the 'language' bit.......will post later on the YV personal forum. Well said on your part, GF.
Please don't show any angst regarding our Qzone Ghost as they mention ....'Paul Rodgers Discuses Queen with Nikki Sixx ........'
Many, MANY of my "musically inclined" friends like to argue about the popularity and credibility of Queen. Fact is, few bands have more recognizable songs in American culture from the past few decades than Queen. Certainly, Lynyrd Skynyrd only has two. At least Queen were smart enough to make a long ass song that didn't include a twelve hour guitar solo.

Haha! They were also smart enough to make a long ass song that DID include a twelve hour guitar solo!
It's called "Brighton Rock"! ;-)
LOL

HAHAHAHHA! and my friends say no one likes QUEEN! HOW WRONG WERE THEY xD

They are not just wrong, anybody who would claim that nobody likes one of the biggest selling bands in the history of recorded music is an out and out blithering idiot.
