It's like wanting to go back to the girlfriend you've dumped and miss. The girlfriend has moved on. I'm glad they rejected him... this next record of theirs will be very, very interesting.
Thank you, lalaalalaa, for the link.
Checked out some other web comments afterwards. Sad that the DT 'lawyers' told Mike 'no', and not the band.
Keeping this under a 1000 words, ....there has to be more dirty laundry than we were initially led to believe. Months ago, Mike said he needed a break after the AX7 tour. Well, the tour ended, and so did Mike's affiliation with the band. The band flat out came out and said 'thanks, that's it, it's AX7, not AX7 with Mike Portnoy'.
Well, AX7 ended their 'contract' with him, and where has he been the past two weeks per his twitter: 'in the studio' with Neal Morse (sp?) et al.
Doesn't sound like a 'break' to me.
I will be very curious about the new DT album (and still unnamed drummer...wtf!?!). Just won't be the same in concert.....MP being the focal point of what was at times a very boring live band otherwise (sorry Sir GH). If Petrucci continues on with his depressing lyrics, and LaBrie continues on with the 'industrial' vocals and screaming per their last two releases and his solo effort, well.............my opinion of them will continue its downward slide.
moving on....I have to bring back to life the RUSH thread that Yara started, as I'll be seeing them in the 5th row center (thank you, Mrs G...nice xmas present), when they show up in the Charm City a couple of months from now. Maybe Neil Peart will be the new DT tour drummer .
