I am sure everyone will be familar with the two versions of this track that have been shared; the convention recording with the band messages and the studio version without the messages.
Years ago I head a rummour of a third version. It was susposed to be the convention version with the band messages, but a high quality studio recording. Does anyone know if these is true or not? I'd really like to know if there is anything to this rummour or just the usual rubbish.
Thanks
I've got three versions:
4:37 - high quality version, no messages
7:32 - longer version, messages, fanclub recording from greg brooks session
6:05 - from the 'ultimate rarities collection' bootleg from ~10 years ago - audience recording from the original fanclub convention
I have the same version of Pim Derks but I think that studio version with the message exist... somewhere... because the song played at the 1989 convention was a studio version of the track with the message!!! :)
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say....
The Queen Talks 25 years of convention messages DVD available from the Fan Club, has good quality versions of "Dog With A Bone - Convention messages" "Invisible Man - Convention Messages" "I'm Going Slightly Mad (totally Bonkers) demo-ish" & Brian doing a short vocal guitar Ad-lib of "I Want it All" all these in good quality.

I have to say, that after a 9 month wait (and STILL waiting) and a cost of £17, I'll be very pissed off if someone uploads it here for everyone to download free of charge, and I don't care how mean and nasty you all think that is!

I'm not uploading it here, Just passing on the information, as I suppose it's sort of official & the fan club is in bit of a mess financially, so they could do with the sales of the DVD.
Thanks for the information, I did not know there was a longer convention version out there.
I wish the fan club DVD has come out before I spent all that money on the 1986 tape and the 1989 flexi!

Oh yeah! That's the version first played at convention in the 80's and the one that appears on the "Ultimate Collection" bootleg.
It's easy enough to edit out the band talking and still have a longer version than the "studio quality" version we've all had for a few years.
The 1989 flexi was the 'Invisible Man' convention message. I don't think there was a flexi of the 'Dog With A Bone' message, unless someone corrects me?

No I think that would be "Dog with a Boner"
Just got hold of a copy of the fan club DVD. It contains a high quality version of the extended version of the song, which comes in at 7.08.
It's an excellent listen, and you can pick up a lot of the detail that was missing from the convention recording.

I'm still waiting for mine, and it pisses me off something rotten that i was one of the first people to order it at convention, but there are other people who ordered it months later from the website that got their copies BEFORE Christmas!
I got mine from eBay. I think someone thought they would make alot money by putting it on eBay, but in the end it sold for less than the fan club was selling it for!

Assuming you got an original. I understand that it's just a DVD-R anyway, which makes the fan clubs price even more extortionate.
It wouldn't cost them £1 each for properly pressed copies, printed, case and sleeve for 500 - That's still a HUGE profit for Jacky.
Anyway. Less said about my feelings towards Jacky and the fan club the better.
I would love to buy the dvd. Also if their is any other Queen convention dvd's, do you know how I can purchase them?
I've been to only one convention in my whole life, and that was last year. So if anyone can help me out here on this thread, I greally appreciate it.
