No, magic Johnson don't beat HIV, he is in treatment, one very well, and can combat the virus to have a long and a better life. This man WIN the battle versus the virus thanks to the mother cells and a mutation in the genome. In a few years we can have a remedy. It's a great new!
I remember the story at the time. It's not really new news, though it may have just recently been published in a journal which usually brings renewed and more mainstream attention.

Antibodies can be harvested and reproduced, meaning a cure can't be that far away.
However the fact that this happened one year ago, and the news hasn't really picked up on it suggests it is not as simple as that.

FACT: The guy who "discovered" it back in the early 1980's had his research proved to be a false - there was no HIV virus, but then suddenly a year or so later the 'disease' was back with a vengeance....
FACT: The test for HIV is a simple look for increased antibodies in the system. The same antibodies that, incidentally, are produced by pregnant women, That's why so many pregnant women in the USA are told their children have HIV - it's bullshit.
