I know this post has probably been done a zillion times but I'm gonna do it again. Like most of my lists, these aren't my personal favorite but what I think are their best and worst pieces of work Greatest Queen Songs of All Time: 1. Bohemian Rhapsody - Without a doubt the greatest Queen song all time, if not the greatest song ever written. No matter how big of a Queen fan you are, we could all admit that this launched them off on their career. It had everything Queen was all about plus a catchy yet complex tune, not to mention it worked well live. Hands down for any non-hit Queen song, this is just the best. 2. Somebody to Love 3. Innuendo 4. Save Me 5. Killer Queen 6. Don't Stop Me Now 7. We Are the Champions 8. Another One Bites the Dust 9. We Will Rock You (Fast Version) 10. These Are the Days Of Our Lives Worst Queen Songs of All Time 1. More of that Jazz - I'm sorry Roger but this is just a terrible song, especially for Queen standards. There is nothing to do it and pretty much just sounds like a "space filler". I hardly ever diss any Queen song but this is a rare case. 2. Party 3. The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke 4. Tear It Up 5. Rain Must Fall 6. Hang in On There 7. Fight From the Inside 8. Get Down Make Love 9. The Miracle 10. Body Language |

Another one of these threads?.....The only thing I'll say is anyone who puts Fairy feller's master stroke as one of Queens worst songs can't be taken seriously. |

Seconded. TFFMS is awesome. |

Well here we go. the best 1: The march of the black queen 2: Innuendo 3: My fairy king 4: Bohemian rhapsody 5: Was it all worth it 6: Its late 7: The prophets song 8: Seaside rendezvous 9: Flick of the wrist 10: Machines the worst (but not bad at all) 1: Body language 2: One year of love 3: Get down make love 4: Dont try suecide (apart from the excellent guitarsolo) 5: She makes me 6: Pain is so close to pleasue 7: Rain must fall 8: My baby does me 9: In only 7 days 10: Staying power (but only the studio version) |

It just shows how different we all are in our liking for Queen songs because i quite like The Miracle and One Year of Love, they are not in my top ten but they are still good songs My fav top 10 (it changes regular) but my current ten are Bohemian Rhapsody The Show Must Go On Another One Bites The Dust Somebody To Love Killer Queen These are the days of our lives Your my best friend I want to break free We Are the champions Now Im Here there isnt any songs that i would not listen to as i have a strange liking for unpopular songs based on the music rather than the lyrics |

Oh cmon, compared to their other work, it's crap. Plus it was recorded somewhat messy. |
PrimeJiveUSA 05.12.2010 13:37 |
Well I respect everyone's opinions. I have to admit, though, that my eyes popped out of my head when I saw Fairy Fellers Masterstroke on a "worst of list". As for my OWN opinion, I am much more comfortable listing my top 10 favorite ALBUMS than songs...there are just too many songs to break down in order of greatness...and I always regret what I listed. I only want to comment that Staying Power(studio version) is nowhere NEAR being a "worst Queen song". You may not like the musical style but it is an excellent composition, production and performance. I think it's one of Queens' best songs and ranks on a "Don't Sto Me Now" level. Everyone always slags the studio version and raves about the Live version...never have understood that. Sure the live version is good...but just like most Queen songs...the studio version is superior imho. |
Gregsynth 05.12.2010 13:48 |
It's all subjective, but TFFMS ain't crap. Least explain why it's crap instead of saying "it's crap." One song I'm not too fond of is "Man On The Prowl:" It sounds like Queen just wanted to add "filler" to the album by adding a song that's related to Crazy Little Thing Called Love (and not coming off as good). Plus with the abrupt ending, it really seems like they rushed the song. |
Gregsynth 05.12.2010 13:50 |

Gregsynth...great...then we're in agreement. Like I said before...I almost ALWAYS prefer Queen's studio versions to their live versions. And Staying Power is one of the best songs that they have ever done...period. |
Josh Henson 05.12.2010 15:53 |
Best (and in no particular order past #1): 1. Bohemian Rhapsody 2. Somebody To Love 3. Killer Queen 4. Don't Stop Me Now 5. We Are The Champions 6. Under Pressure 7. The Show Must Go On 8. White Queen (As It Began) 9. Liar 10. Now I'm Here Worst: 1. Cool Cat 2. Body Language 3. Delilah 4. Pain Is So Close To Pressure 5. My Baby Does Me 6. Man On The Prowl 7. Don't Try Suicide 8. Jealousy 9. Rain Must Fall 10. One Year of Love |

mike hunt wrote: Another one of these threads?.....The only thing I'll say is anyone who puts Fairy feller's master stroke as one of Queens worst songs can't be taken seriously. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ i agree 100%...anyone who puts BoRhap top and then puts FFMS in the worst category needs help FFS - "Fairy Feller" (along with Nevermore and March) is the the inspiration for Bo Rhap....the arrangements, the segues, the tempo changes, the fantasy lyrics...without these three songs together on (imo queen's greatest album) Queen II, there would be no Bo Rhap |
jamster1111 05.12.2010 17:54 |
How can you put Jealousy in the worst? That is one of the best! Also, cool cat as number 1 worst? How? It's such a good song with an awesome beat that shows how diverse Queen was. FFMS is just a bunch of random ideas with a messy structure. Yes it may have some of the theatrical elements that borhap had but it did not have the genius structure |
Gregsynth 05.12.2010 18:28 |
Just because it had a different structure, doesn't make it crap. Ever heard of Rush's 2112 song (that's over 20 minutes)? That's got various structure and time signature differences in the song, yet it's a fantastic song. Alot of Queen's early stuff (Queen I through Races), were progressive rock/influenced by progressive rock. |
jamster1111 05.12.2010 21:16 |
Have you ever listened to it? Every time i hear it on Queen II i just wanna skip to the next song. But I think there's one thing we can't argue, and that is More of That Jazz isn't a good Queen song. |
Gregsynth 05.12.2010 21:18 |
I have listened to it plenty of times. Yes, I'm not too fond of More Of That Jazz. |
Dan C. 05.12.2010 23:41 |
I've always loved More of That Jazz. Roger's vocals are awesome and the riffs are pretty cool. High art? No, but it's damn good rock 'n' roll if you ask me! |
liam 06.12.2010 03:09 |
FFMS is an amazing song and I think 99% of people on here would say that. You are certainly in the major minority. |
Thrill Yeti 06.12.2010 04:51 |
I agree that FFMS isn't really very good. To be honest a lot of Queen II is overrated- there's loads of good ideas in every song but the production is really weak and a lot of the songs aren't at all distinctive. As for my ten best and worst (at this point in time): Best 1. Bohemian Rhapsody 2. Don't Stop Me Now 3. Killer Queen 4. Somebody To Love 5. Another one Bites the Dust 6. One Vision 7. You and I 8. The Show Must Go On 9. Seaside Rendezvous 10. Now I'm Here Worst 1. Machines (Or Back to Humans) 2. White Queen 3. My Baby Does Me 4. Back Chat 5. Some Day One Day 6. Jesus 7. She Makes Me 8. White Man 9. Gimme the Prize 10. Don't Lose Your Head |
bluephoenix 06.12.2010 06:12 |
for me i'd go with Best 1. I Was Born To Love You 2. These Are The Days Of Our Lives 3. Made In Heaven 4. March Of The Black Queen 5. Somebody To Love 6. It's Late 7. You And I 8. Was It All Worth It 9. Who Wants To Live Forever 10. Fairy Fellers Masterstroke worst 1. Body Language 2. White Man 3. Drowse 4. Action This Day 5. Mustapha 6. In The Lap Of The Gods 7. Staying Power (Studio Version) 8. Get Down, Make Love 9. The Prophets Song 10. More Of That Jazz |
Silken 06.12.2010 07:57 |
In my computer I have the Queen discography divided into "Great songs" and "Not so great songs". The "Great Songs" folder contains over 60 songs, so it will be difficult to choose only ten. Best, in no particular order except for number 1: Bohemian Rhapsody You take my breath away The show must go on Death on two legs Don't stop me now Innuendo Princes of the universe Headlong Killer Queen Jealousy Worst: I'm in love with my car Under pressure (so overrated) We will rock you Las palabras de amor Party Well, the whole "Hot Space" |
angermair73 06.12.2010 09:12 |
I dont mind "more of that jazz". I kind of like the guitars and rogers voice here. They shouldt have mixed the other songs in to it though. Thats the bad thing about that song. Otherwise a good rock tune |
qrock 06.12.2010 11:01 |
Queen Best: 1. The March of the Black Queen 2. The Prophet's Song 3. Somebody to Love 4. Bohemian Rhapsody 5. Father to Son 6. Brighton Rock 7. Now I'm Here 8. The Show Must Go On 9. Save Me 10. Queen II is definitely overrated (it's because people say it's underrated), but the album still has some great songs and ideas but the way they recorded those songs were incredibly weak. For instance, White Queen and March of the Black Queen are awesome songs but they were recorded like shit. The live versions of the White Queen are ten times better than the studio and MOTBQ worked well live as part of the medley. I'm surprised no one has put More of that Jazz in the worst list. |

The fairy feller's master stroke 9. Somebody to love 10. '39 And lots more. ITLOTG...Revisited, WWRY fast version, the show must go on... I could name a gazillion more great Queen songs. Pretty much anything bombastic, tear-jerking or in any other way epic could have made it into that top 10. Worst: 1. Kashoggi's ship. How can anyone even take this song seriously? 2. Party 3. Cool cat 4. Dancer 5. Put out the fire 6. Fight from the inside 7. Love of my life 8. Fun it 9. Delilah 10. We will rock you. Great and all, but they should have put the fast version on the album and made the slow one live-only. That last list was a lot harder. |

We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You (Mercury/May) News of the World 3. Another One Bites the Dust (Deacon) The Game 4. Under Pressure (Queen and David Bowie) Hot Space 5. Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Mercury) The Game 6. Killer Queen (Mercury) Sheer Heart Attack 7. I Want to Break Free (Deacon) The Works 8. Somebody to Love (Mercury) A Day at the Races 9. I agree with many songs rated as the worst, but no "In The Lap of The God" or, more than anything, "Love of My LIfe". Oh, I forgot, somebody put also "Under Pressure" in the same category. Unbelievable!!! Do you have wax in your ears, guys??? In fact, de gustibus non disputandum...ever |

Sorry The Dude...but "Jesus" is awesome...don't know why so many slag this song. Is it because it's about a religious figure? Get over it. Kashoggis Ship is a nice, fiesty little rocker from latter-day Queen...but I agree with all who listed "Party"....definitely one of my LEAST favorite Queen songs. I'll take "More Of That Jazz" ANYDAY over "Party". |

Anybody who puts anything from the first 2 albums into their worst 10 really need there ears tested. Can't beat classics such as Great King Rat, Liar, MOTBQ, Father To Son, White Queen etc etc...I could go on. Any real duff Queen songs came on their later albums most notably in the 80's with Hot Space, The Miracle etc. You can't beat their golden 70's period and before Freddie forgot how to play piano!! |

Ten favourite is really hard and it changes all the time but at the mo... Somebody to love White Man Dreamers Ball Staying Power My Melancholy Blues Spread Your Wings Father to son Dancer Death on two legs Show must go on ten worst are easy as stinkers are stinkers "right til the end"... The Invisible Man Really appalling, turgid and offensive re-working of Ray Parker Juniors ''Ghostbusters''complete with annoying electro bass. Man on the Prowl A Complete bollocks attempt to retread 'Crazy little thing' territory with Shakin Stevens style guitar solo. Should have given the whole song to him. Misfire The Clue is in the title. Thankfully JD's songwriting got better. My Baby Does Me Yes I should think she probably does but not while listening to this surely. (Original Vinyl of the Miracle criminally overlooked ¨Hang on in There¨ in favour of this - what were they thinking of) Delilah Sorry Fred but a song about your cat has no place on a Queen Album. Even a GOOD song about your cat has no place on a Queen album and this is not a good song infact the song would probably pee all over your chippendale suite too. Was it all Worth it "We bought a drumkit, thought we were perfect"....on the strength of these lyrics 'they, sadly, weren't perfect at all - nor was it "Worth it". The Hitman It wasn't "A Hit" man. Coming Soon This song is not offensive - it just bores me beyond continence and that, for Queen, is unforgivable. Don't lose your Head Quite difficult not to lose your head when there is noise but no song. Friends will be Friends Shallow, Mawkish, sentimental lighter - waving at it's very worst from Queen's worst album.Actually in my experience Friends WON¨T be Friends unless your friend happens to be a Labrador. |

My Top 10 Fave Songs: In The Lap Of the Gods...Revisted (the perfect ballad and anthem of Queen) Mother Love (most sensual song with oh so genuine lyrics, vocals (IMHO the best Fred's vocal performance ever) and guitar solo) Tenement Funster! (Just as perfect as ITLOTG...R, one of the failures of Queen that they never performed this masterpiece live) Pain Is So Close To Pleasure (my favorite 80's Queen song music wise, production wise and lyric wise) Sail Away Sweet Sister (Brian in his best, but don't forget brilliant John solo in the fadeout!) The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke (Queen's best progressive song - their best one of the fave album of mine) Don't Stop Me Now (their most optimistic and energetic song, like a battery for a recharge) Teo Torriate (brilliant anthem from brilliant (2nd fave) album) Spread Your Wings (John's song about many people like us, great performance, though I prefer BBC and live versions) The Show Must Go On (the song that opened the whole world of music (not only Queen) in my teens, the whole band in the great form) My Least Fave Songs (But NOT Worst): Body Language (though [unfortunately]synth bassline save a song) Get Down Make Love (deserves a listen thanks for John & Roger grooves) Party (quite boring for a Queen standards) Khashogi's Ship (the same as above, but much better, thanks for the coda) Son And Daughter (very Sabbathesque song, but perfect for live shows) Tear It Up (Bri repeated himself) Coming Soon (Roger had failures as Freddie and Brian, unfortunately, it'd be better if they chose A Human Body for the album) My Baby Does Me (as again, bassline saves the whole picture) Hitman (dislike this song since a first listen of the album) Delilah (earlier liked this tune, Queen had better songs from that period if you listen demos like My Secret Fantasy and Self-Made Man) But, nevertheless, Queen got not bad songs. the above list just shows my least faves of them. I dunno any other band with consistency of songwriting like Queen (except maybe Sade). Even the Beatles can't come near Queen in it. |

Is Kuba actually Gerry? Evidently Kuba loves Freddie, but is not fond of Brian or Roger. ... All 10 of his best songs were written by Freddie. 2 of his worst songs were written by Freddie. 2 of his worst songs were cowritten by Freddie and John. 2 of his worst songs were written by John. 12 of his worst songs were written by Roger. 1 of his worst songs was cowritten by Brian and Roger. 20 of his worst songs were written by Brian. |

Saint Jiub wrote:Is Kuba actually Gerry?
