Hi Gary, I want to ask you for some informations about videos mentioned below and it would be great if you will find time to answer them. :-) 1. 2 short videos were shown on Killer Queen documentary from Channel 4, air date: 01.06.2002. YouTube sample: link 2. Rainbow concert from 31st March was filmed. Does Queen Productions have a copy of this footage in their archives? YouTube sample: link 3. Some black and white footage from We Are The Champions video shoot was also shown inthe Killer Queen documentary. How much of this footage is in the archives? Screenshot: link 4. Is this footage from Houston '77, Fort Worth '77 or Munich '78? Do you know where it was filmed? YouTube sample: link 5. Part of Tear It Up from Tokyo, 8.5.1985 was shown on Japanese television show and short bit from the show was also shown on Killer Queen documentary. YouTube sample: link 6. Some footage filmed from the backstage or from the helicopter during Mannheim concert in 1986 was shown in Magic Years (volume three) documentary. It was probably filmed by DoRo crew. How much of the concert was filmed? 7. There is also short video from the backstage from the end of the show in Newcastle '86 (Magic Years documentary) filmed probably by DoRo. Was the complete concert filmed? 8. Is the complete Budapest concert (video filmed by MaFilm crew) in the archives or just edited version used for VHS "Queen Magic"? Thanks, Luke. |

Why do I think these threads will get annoying. Gary won't answer everyone’s questions, he'll be here forever, he's politely said in another thread that he can't spend all day on queenzone, it's understandable. This is what annoyed Greg Brooks to begin with, Greg hasn’t helped matters since, including starting fights, but I can really see his point. Do people REALLY want to know this stuff; most of the fun is finding it all out ourselves and “getting one over on Queen Productions". Knowing what they have will lead to disappointment, arguments, conspiracy theories and cries of LIAR. The best example is Knebworth, It's pretty clear Queen doesn’t have it, but there are STILL posts saying they are teasing us. |

I'm also interested in all that stuff. But what do you mean under 'Houston '77' or you mean another Houston? I don't know about another Houston '77 because another one wasn't played. Haven't you seen Houston video? |

"I don't know about another Houston '77 because another one wasn't played." This may be a reference to the Fort Worth show - this was supposedly filmed as well. Bob Harris mentions this in one of the fan club magazines (I think??). He was with the band for both of these shows. |

Haven't you seen Houston video? I am talking about well known video from Houston, TX, USA, 11.12.1977. link |

It is rumoured that they filmed dozens (or even hundreds) of hours of footage on this tour, both on and off stage, for the documentary that didn't end up being completed. He once mentioned the Las Vegas show too. We can only imagine how much News Of The World tour footage they have stowed away. |

I can't imagine they do NOT have it. Son And Daughter and Modern Times Rock'n'Roll are in the BBC archives in perfect quality, so there is no excuse for NOT having them in the Queen archives. 3. There must be tons of it. Bob Harris spent a LOT of time with the band ... 4. probably Houston 5. Can I ask what was on Killer Queen from this date ? 7.End of the show in Newcastle ? Are you sure ? I have to check it but I don't remember seeing Newcastle at Magic Years :-) 8. According to Miklos all "deleted scenes" were DELETED :-( |
Doga 02.12.2010 16:54 |
But who is miklos and how know it? and what about the multicam video of budapest concert? It shows another one bites the dust and all deleted scenes from the VHS release, i think QP have the master, If i pay for a film i will save all the delete footage for the future |

There was a short bit from that Japanese TV show used in this documentary (but nothing from the concert). YouTube sample: link (from 1:27 to 1:29) 7. Yes, I am sure. At the end of volume three is a short part when band leaves the stage and Brian wears a Children Need friends t-shirt. YouTube sample: link (from 4:01 to 4:45) |

flu wrote: But who is miklos and how know it? .............................. Miklos Borbely is one of the best video collectors in Queen community. He has great knowledge about Queen videos and he was the one, who discovered "all 16 camera angles" footage of Budapest '86 and shared it with us. He also met with Janos Zsombolyai several times. |

Bob was sitting in front of me when he stated this. The footage includes a four hour interview with Fred. Part of the US footage might come from Las Vegas - he said that there was time before the gig (a few days) and that he went down the Strip with Roger over two or three days..... :-) There is "hundreds of hours" of footage - he said that it took forever to get all the footage in some sort of order in the editing suite. |
The Real Wizard 04.12.2010 11:49 |
When did you speak with him about this? Does he still have any of the footage, or is it all in the possession of the band now? |
Bad Seed 06.12.2010 14:59 |
I think the first footage is Rainbow March '74. The BBC have shown footage of this show and the quality is exactly the same. |

I think it's from Japan '75. It's the same camera angle that was used in video from Tokyo, 1st May 1975 (you can see it during Killer Queen). |
The Real Wizard 09.12.2010 09:57 |
I'm also inclined to think it's from Japan 75 - but probably not May 1, as that would mean Freddie changed his outfit 4 times, which is pretty unlikely. |
