Hello! This is again me. This time I'm with news about Paris 1979 footage or something like this... In this video on YouTube link I've found very interesting footage that lasts only one second (from 0.14 to 0.15), I think this can be only from We Will Rock You (fast) from the second night in Paris on February 28 because it doesn't match the third Paris night and Tokyo concert also and it doesn't match all footages of WWRY (fast) of 1979 year. And there are also clips at 1.46 and 1.48 of this same footage. Below are screenshots. Your opinion, guys. |

Paris 79, second night. Source - US TV show "The Champions" |
Hangman_96 21.11.2010 09:52 |
Hmm, there's nothing about WWRY (fast) from the second night in Paris table on Bob's site link |
pittrek 21.11.2010 10:44 |
I still think it's from the same source, just check this : link - same camera angles, same colours, same dress ... If only Freddie hadn't his sunglasses on :-) |
Hangman_96 21.11.2010 10:53 |
Yes, this is from it but just before LMEY as Freddie wore his sunglasses only in WWRY (fast) :-) |
Hangman_96 21.11.2010 11:19 |
I suppose I've found a new bit of Paris footage :-) |
GT 21.11.2010 12:21 |
Yes Missman and Pittrek the footage is indeed from 'We Will Rock You' (fast) and is from February 28th. Clips from this song were taken from the 28th and 25th in Tokyo for use in 'The Champions' TV show. And not everything on Bob's site is correct. |
pittrek 21.11.2010 12:29 |
I must admit I have seen the footage many times before, but always thought it's LMEY :-) I never noticed those damned sunglasses :-) Thanks GT for the information, but could you please tell us what's wrong on Bob's site ? Or is it something what can we find in your book ? |

Thanks, GT! Could you please write setlists of footages of all three nights in Paris that exist and what exists from Tokyo footage in archives (I'm interested in Get Down Make Love footage from Tokyo), and do exist footages from Tokyo concerts on April 23 and 24? |
GT 21.11.2010 15:24 |
All three nights of Paris exist. |

And not everything on Bob's site is correct.Nice cheap shot, Gary. In case you didn't realize, I don't have Queen's archive to work with. I'm doing the best I can with what's available to me. I have done countless hours of research using only what I have access to, and sure, a thing or two here and there may be wrong. You, on the other hand, have access to Queen's archives. So no matter how good your book will be, it isn't rocket science. You're just regurgitating information that was easily accessible to you. With minimal resources I have happily put in years of service for the Queen community, and I don't ask for a single thing in return. But I absolutely do not deserve you publicly criticizing my website, as if its few flaws could somehow have been corrected with what little information is available to me to begin with. I am very proud of what I have accomplished, and I don't think anyone here looks kindly upon you for belittling it. If you'd like to help improve my website, then great, let's make it a team effort. Tell me what's incorrect and I can fix it. You've used plenty of material from my website for your book, and I've even sent you recordings over email. So maybe you could give something in return for a change? Otherwise, please keep your snide comments to yourself. Don't you have anything better to do than be a grown-up bully? Does your ego really need this kind of fulfillment? |

I'll take Bob's "not correct" site over Greg Brooks' book (which has so many little errors, it's not funny). |

Nice cheap shot, Gary. It was no cheap shot, just a response to someone who thought every thing you have on your site is correct....just like any other sites and books that have mistakes in them. If you want cheap shots and snide comments, then go to any comment I make on any thread, and there you are with your nasty responses....you will be amazed how many there are. Your site is very good, and has been a source of information to many fans over the years. It is well researched, well executed and the info you have is second to none. And although you have put in the hours over the years, a lot of it is from other sources and other fans. You actually took a lot of info initially from GB's live book in the early nineties for your site, but nobody or even GB has complained and made a song and dance over it. Information once published in a book or on a website is available for all to share and use as they wish. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ With minimal resources I have happily put in years of service for the Queen community, and I don't ask for a single thing in return. But I absolutely do not deserve you publicly criticizing my website, as if its few flaws could somehow have been corrected with what little information is available to me to begin with. I am very proud of what I have accomplished, and I don't think anyone here looks kindly upon you for belittling it. Of course you don't publicly criticise or belittle myself, GB, QPL, Queen product and the band themselves do you? _______________________________________________________________________________________________ If you'd like to help improve my website, then great, let's make it a team effort. Tell me what's incorrect and I can fix it. You've used plenty of material from my website for your book, and I've even sent you recordings over email. So maybe you could give something in return for a change? Of course you would like me to correct and add information to your website, so you can update and amend any information that is wrong, and take the credit yourself. If you weren't so aggressive and demanding and continually attacking me, then something could of happened with a joint team effort to make your site the best it could be. The last email you sent to me was that you were pulling out of all support for the new Live book and wanted nothing to do with it. So you ended any relationship that could of ensued....why that happened I don't know, you never responded again. So now you can use the information in the new Live book when it comes out, and add it to your site then. Will I make a big furore over it, the use of my information and years of work? No of course not. And you have it easy, as a website can be corrected and updated on a daily basis, where a book can't, once it is out there, it can't be altered until another edition is published, usually many years down the line. So lets put an end to this negativity and personal attacks on me, as you know nothing about me or what I do, and take whatever info I give to people as some kind of help for them, and not for you, as you seem to know it all.....but others don't, and are happy to read and appreciate any question or topic I respond to. |

Of course you don't publicly criticise or belittle myself, GB, QPL, Queen product and the band themselves do you?Of course, it's called freedom of speech. But I never, ever throw cheap shots. Any criticism I make is well-thought out, with a solution at the end of the tunnel always in sight. Of course you would like me to correct and add information to your website, so you can update and amend any information that is wrong, and take the credit yourself. How ironic coming from someone who is working with Greg Brooks, whose last book had not a single photo credit given, and not a single footnote done. Have I ever exhibited any kind of behaviour that would even imply that I would not give someone full credit for information that comes from a single unique source? If you look through my website, wherever possible I give credit where it's due. If you weren't so aggressive and demanding and continually attacking me, then something could of happened with a joint team effort to make your site the best it could be.This contradicts your previous implication that the book would sell less copies if the information would be available online. So I hope you can understand how I find that hard to believe. The last email you sent to me was that you were pulling out of all support for the new Live book and wanted nothing to do with it.I said I was "considering withdrawing" my support, and only after you ignored several emails with business-related questions about the book. You even admitted to ignoring one of them because you thought my questions were humourous. And you have it easy, as a website can be corrected and updated on a daily basis, where a book can't, once it is out there, it can't be altered until another edition is published, usually many years down the line.Well, that is the chosen method of publication, so at least you aren't expecting any surprises. you seem to know it all.....but others don't, and are happy to read and appreciate any question or topic I respond to.But this is precisely the problem with you and Greg - you only respond to the simple inquiries, the questions that most people here already know the answers to, or can easily find elsewhere. When someone asks for something beyond this scope of readily available information, for years every single inquiry has been ignored. Your "all three nights in Paris exist" answer continues this tradition. Why has this been the case? Will it ever change? There are dozens of threads here where questions remain unanswered. It's not like there hasn't been ample opportunity for QP and this community to engage in meaningful dialogue. The "QP archive list" does not count - most people know that list was incredibly incomplete. The Deep Purple fan community is regularly in touch with representatives of the band, and they discuss the contents and specifics of pending releases. Queen fans, on the other hand, are invited to buy a book to get into the loop - myself included, a contributor to said book. Need I say more? And no, I don't "know it all." If you read my above post again, it is clearly indicated numerous times that this is not the case. Let's try and make this civil, shall we? There is so much potential to create good here. |
