You will probably have some conflicting views on this! In the Record Collector guide, it has been valued at around £200. On ebay, I've rarely seen it go for more than £75, although I sold my 7" version of it for that last year. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than £100, even if it was mint. I suppose it's only worth what your best offer is!
Additionally there a pirate versions in circulation. Counterfeits of this sleeve are matt, whereas the original was a glossy
laminated sleeve. The bootleg also folds in the European way: (imagine you're looking at the edge of the sleeve that opens)

It's not a pirate copy. I bought it myself in a record store.

Hi. That's what I thought about my French Mr. Bad Guy CD. I bought it in a record store in Madrid back in 1998 but it turned out to be a pirate copy and I could only tell by comparing the matrix number on the CD surface. The original French CD was supposed to be rare.
My point is, 'proper' record shops (even big chains) every now and then stock pirate copies or unofficial releases without knowing (Queen in Nuce comes to mind).
I'm not saying your HTF record is a fake or anything. Just pointing out that there is a slight possibility. However, If you bought your record back in 1984 around the time the record was released and before it was withdrawn, I guess you can be sure it's the real deal.
Dear BigFish (good motion-picture by the way)
It wasn't my aim to call your version a pirate. I just wanted to explain that possible buyers will be careful and will ask a lot of questions before. And I think the existance of pirates - which are well done actually - can minimize the price of this item.
As far as I know there are more pirates of the 7" in circulation. You're talking about the 12" version, don't you?
Where and when did you buy it?
