LOL...I like the Jam!
Listened to them mainly as a teenager, though. Everything I have of theirs is on vinyl and boxed up in storage, unfortunately. Never have bothered to get anything on CD.
Having said that I own The Gift, an EP that I can't remember the name of...but it had a girl holding a flag on the cover and included the cover version of "War".
The album I played to death was the double album compilation SNAP! Loved EVERY song on that thing! LOL
Fond memories of That's Entertainment, In The City, Smithers Jones, Down In The Tubestation, English Rose.
I'm American so a lot of the topics were kind of alien to me, but i sure loved the songs!
Also, LOVE the Style Council performance opening Live Aid!
The Style Council DIDNT open Live Aid - that honour went to Status Quo........
The Jam had some good songs....... not that many for me to see them as a great band.
I guess the only thing bad about Paul Weller is that he(if I remember correctly) has said some pretty nasty things about Queen (and Freddie in particular) and has come off as kind of obnoxious and arrogant. Other than that, sure he's a swell guy! :/
I have a friend who was a session guitarist who had the pleasure of working with Paul Weller and swears that he was a gentleman and a pleasure to work with.
