just wonderin if Freddie was gay or bie cus im confused, he was "married" to Mary Austin but did they just get together cus they were giid friends and it was a way for Freddie to hide the fact he was gay in the early seventies cus i know they were ver very very good friends.
why discuss Freddie's sexuality? my answer for your question is: i don't know. imo freddie's sexuality is not a good subject to discuss here. And why do you need this information?
woa, Freddies sexuality is not taboo, yes it doesn't matter if the was Gay or straight or whatever. But why does some people get upset whenever you mention Freddie was Gay, and goes like "IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER IF, WHAT MATTERS IS THAT HE MADE GREAT MUSIC!! dickhead..." but he was gay, or as Gregsynth said Bi - with a preference for men..
But he was:
gay gay gay gay gay
gay gay gay gay
gay gay gay gay gay gay
gay gay gay
GAY GAY GAY GAY
Its not a taboo
And no i don't care if he was gay or straight or whatever sexual preference he had... as long as he kept himself away from small boys.. Well he wasn't a catholic priest so i guess he was alright..

I don't think anyone's upset.

Freddie was gay and he and Mary were never married. Although Mary was Freddie's best friend and the person he trusted the most, she also was basically a "beard" when Freddie needed to be at a public function.
Although Freddie & Mary were never technically married, Freddie once said in an interview that they felt like they had had a marraige and they went about lives the same way and they had a deep bond that nobody could break
Freddie also once said when asked in an interview about his sexuality that he had a wider sexual preference to most people
True, the only thing that matter's is the man was awsome. amazing singer, underated songerwriter , one of the best of all time songwriters IMO. Great live performer, and Brian May summed up my opinion of him as a pianist. freddie was a great piano player, though Wasn't technically the greatest of players, but played with passion and had is own style of his own. Not many Technically brilliant pianist could say they have their own style...........but back to the Question, Gay or Bi?......I don't give a rats ass, but the truth is the truth. Freddie was Gay!.......every gay man i know had 1 or 2 relationships with a woman, but in the end we find out those women were Their beards, coverups, or they were just in denial about how they were feeling. Mary was the love of his life or soul mate, but that doesn't mean in a sexual way. Their love was more emotional, spiritual, trust. Everything but the sex part. God, Even mary told freddie and much later on his bio to his fans "freddie you're gay" was her words. End of story!
hey i aint sayin i dont like gay people, there is nothin wrong with them, and i know freddie was an awesome musician and being gay had nothin to do with it, btw i hate it when people start sayin all bad things about gay people, they are normal, they are not bad people because they are gay, they just have different tastes but to be honest with u we all have different tastes in things, but that dose not make us all bad people to have dofferent tastes, who agrees with me?
Freddie was gay. 100% full fletched homosexual.
His upbringing and careerchoice had left him in quite the turmoil up until the mid seventies, when he finally accepted the fact that he indeed was sexually more attracted to men then women.
It's just a shame he felt this fact would harm his career if he would ever admit to it in public, so he never did.
The tabloids would be all over him and Queen if he would be the outspoken gay man in showbizz, so I see his point in not revealing. He also was very aware that him being gay would not only harm him, but most likely put a lot of pressure on Mary and a lot of his close friends.
Just look at George Michael and Ricky Martin.. it took them quite some tome to come out.
Mika came out too soon and his career is just about over in the US. And thats 2010 we're talking about.
Freddie was gay, and should've been more carefull exploring his sexuality. We might not have had The Miracle or Innuendo, but we'd have about 10 more albums of great innovative music right now.
could've, should've, would've..
It really does not matter but according to Brian and Roger in the early days Freddie spent a lot of time backstage and in Hotel rooms with Female company.Later on the Girls were replaced with Guys.
There aren't really any rules when it comes to sexuality (ultimately, it comes down to how you identify yourself), but Freddie would presumably have identified as gay. At least that is according to what I've read.
