Most queen fans tend to hate this song, and I was one of those when i first heard it back in 1989. but now it's quite a little treat. I think every member does a nice Job on this one, a real group effort........ Brians guitar has that unique sound that was missing on some of the 80's songs, love his playing on this one. Good Drums from roger and john does a nice job as well. freddie sounds good and the lryics are fun. Of course it shows queen's ability to play different styles. Let the rain must fall bashing begin!....lol.
I don't like it, but that's because I mostly prefer harder rock. But it's well put together, catchy, and Brian's solo is one of his better 1980s efforts.
Personally I've always liked it. It's catchy, good fun and I enjoy the bass line.
I know alot of people slag off Queen in the 80's, but compared to alot of music that came out in that decade it's great. I find The Miracle album to be very listenable. It's not Queen II to be sure, but it has some good stuff.
I like Rain Must Fall for sentimental reasons. Actually, I love the whole Miracle album because I was 6 years old when it came out and I remember listening to it with my family.
Love it.
it's fun and spirited. the Solo doesn't soar.. it travels... the drums
are great, the production although 1980's ish ... is great. People who
criticize seem to not remember Bring Back Leroy Brown... or Seaside
Rendevous...
though its not a throw back piece it's a mark of their variety.

Wish the guitar at the end didn't fade out so quick though....
That's what i've always thought!! I always rise the volume to the top just to hear the last note
I really like this song
I don't like the keybords at the beggining of the song, sounds very amateur to me (it reminds me an old Yamaha organ that my older brother owned back in the early 90's when I was a little kid). But I think the main melody is nice and the guitar solo is great.
The IWIA, tIM, B, RMF 4 song gauntlet helps makes The Miiracle my favorite album after aDatR. I tend to like the bass heavy songs, and the percussion and guitar is an added bonus. The "anti-depression" theme also helped me during a difficult 6 month stretch in '89.
As indicated in a poll from the early 2000's (see my signature), RMF was mostly viewed negatively, but there was a wide variety of different opinions. In fact most Queen songs hade a wide variety of opinions.
I think it's one of these little, inconspicuous songs which may seem a filler, but in fact they build the mood of the whole album. It's nice, just like the whole "Miracle" is nice. Really great of them to come up with such an optimistic stuff at the time.
Don't understand this whole filler thing. just because a song isn't a classic or brilliant doesn't mean it's filler. Of course what one person thinks is filler another person might think is brilliant.

Two brilliant songs right there.....and can you believe a few queen fans actually think Bring back that leroy brown and seaside Rendevous are filler?....Insane but true. That's why i hate when people throw around that 'filler' word.
i've heard of that one but forgot to townload it on itunes, i'll go download it now and come back later to telll u what i think of it. thanks for reminding me by the way :)

Well, I don't "throw around" the filler word, I just write filler when I think something is filler. And yes, imo RMF was filler. Dreadful lyrics, equally bad production and just really cheesy overall. In fact, a 'howler' might be a better word.
Rain must fall is arguably the worst Queen song ever..
I don't think it marks Queen's variarity.. i think its a fill yes.. a very bad disco-kindof track.
