And we might not give her back. What does she like to eat? Does she like butter tarts? |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 30.06.2010 01:58 |
you can keep her, she's old and costing us a fortune! has Phillip insulted any tribal women yet? |
Mr Mercury 30.06.2010 05:44 |
Yeah keep her. And Phil. Its only a matter of time before he insults someone......... |
Holly2003 30.06.2010 06:38 |
Don't forget to curtsy. link |
GratefulFan 30.06.2010 09:57 |
We're ok with her on our money and stuff where she can't make any sudden moves, but we're not sure about this walking around the place for nine days routine. Phil drunk dialed Quebec from Nova Scotia and offered to drop over if they'd be interested in formally surrendering again. Ouch. |
GratefulFan 01.07.2010 22:48 |
So the day 4 update is that the Queen came to our Canada Day party, and didn't have any fun. Plus, she showed up without a birthday present! Who does that? Curtsy practice is O.V.E.R. |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 02.07.2010 02:18 |
^she was probably pissed off at having to dress like a flag :-p |
GratefulFan 02.07.2010 17:00 |
It was probably less having to dress like a flag and more the two Mounties that kept flipping her sideways because people just weren't *getting* the flag thing. :P Seriously though, I really think we did something wrong. That shot wasn't just a lucky snap, she literally looked like that on every camera pan for the entire two hours. Unless it was some kind of protocol face. But I really don't think so. Whatever it was, we're very sorry! |
Holly2003 02.07.2010 17:14 |
Careful, she's a mean drunk. More than one Corgi has felt her wrath after a night on the Advocaat. |
GratefulFan 03.07.2010 22:24 |
The Queen will be attending the Queen's Plate horse race tomorrow at Woodbine in Toronto. Here's hoping we don't have a repeat of '97 where she kept trying to make outlandish wagers at the betting window, insisting much too loud that "England is good for it!". A little twitchy and stuff, upper lip sweat. She scared some people. |
GratefulFan 05.07.2010 14:10 |
OK! Apparently the Queen is still pumped from the horse fest yesterday, and there's some kind of official request in the pipe that before she leaves she might have the opportunity to 'smack a seal'. Her words, not mine. Seems a little wrong, but she is our guest. |
Mr Mercury 05.07.2010 14:32 |
The reason why the Queen didnt have a present for Canada day is that apparently she is suffering due to cut backs. And guess what? You Canadians are paying for her tour..... |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 05.07.2010 15:11 |
did anyone else see her in her diamond encrusted 3D glasses at the film studio today? :-p |

Mr Mercury wrote: The reason why the Queen didnt have a present for Canada day is that apparently she is suffering due to cut backs. And guess what? You Canadians are paying for her tour..... ==================================================== No excuse! She has lots of hats. It's throw up hot here, and Canada could use a hat. Some actual trivia: Canada pays more anually per capita to support the monarchy structure in this country than Britain does at home. $1.53 (or something) compared to $1.32 (or something). I'm a bit imprecise because I read that article last year some time. |

"Dearest Charles: I'm having a lovely time. Met the Premier of Ontario today and he reminded me of you. Mostly because he'll never be King either. Bwaahahaha, Mummy PS Text me back" And then she went back to Toronto and all the lights went out. Honestly, I think we've accidentally annoyed her somehow every day without exception. |

The official cost of the British monarchy is around 40 million pounds, which is about 60p. a head, I think. They released some figures earlier this week. |

No point asking us Brits if she like butter tarts because us Brits have no idea what the hell a butter tart is! |

Mr Mercury wrote: The reason why the Queen didnt have a present for Canada day is that apparently she is suffering due to cut backs. And guess what? You Canadians are paying for her tour..... reply: dont gloat too loudly, you seen how much the pope is costing us in september? :-p £10m+ |
GratefulFan 06.07.2010 13:34 |
Prize for the first non-Canadian that posts the video for the song (intro) from which the butter tarts question was inspired, without using Google. :) |
Mr Mercury 07.07.2010 05:14 |
Actually Joxer, its more like £12 million the pope is costing us......... |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 07.07.2010 05:40 |
Mr Mercury wrote: Actually Joxer, its more like £12 million the pope is costing us......... reply: how can we afford this if we are as skint as Compo and Clegg say we are? cancel it i say :-[ |

^ there would be an uproar if they did. I agree with you though |

I saw a photo of the Queen and Prince Philip wearing 3-D glasses in our local newspapers today . According to reports, the Queen brought her own pair of customised 3-D glasses, with Swarovski crystals forming the letter Q on the sides. Both husband and wife looked very grim and her lips were really pursed into a line. Maybe both were wearing new uncomfortable dentures :-) |

And further, the backing track that is the main driving force of this song is sampled from the break in the 1976 disco classic 'More More More' by former porn star Andrea True. Fan video (because it has the intro): |

Maybe both were wearing new uncomfortable dentures :-) ============================================ Oh they spent some time mad, I've no doubt. OK, maybe a lot of time. But she is 84 years old. In all seriousness, she was impressive to keep up with a really packed itinerary, at times in withering and soul sucking heat (humidexes of 40, 44 in Winnipeg and Toronto) in sometimes suboptimal conditions (loud and eclectic Canada Day ceremonies, unfinished airport, a security and protocol breach or three, and power blackout, to mention a few). I think she thrilled a lot of people, and the coverage of her here was very solicitous and forgiving. Overall, a success I think, from our perspective at least. |
