William Shatner recently tweeted that he is recording a song from Queen that may lead to a new record.
Shatner, whose musical career began in the late 1960s with the release of his first album, The Transformed Man, is at it again, this time recording Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen’s 1975 hit originally written by Freddie Mercury.
“Going to lay down a track: ‘Bohemian Rhapsody‘,” said Shatner. “Perhaps as the beginning of a new record… My best, Bill.”
Shatner formerly encouraged friend Leonard Nimoy to “come out of retirement” and work with him on the record. “I got an exciting record I’m working on,” he tweeted to Nimoy, who goes by TheRealNimoy on Twitter. “You’d be perfect to add another voice to it.”
If Shatner does a new album, it would be his third one, behind The Transformed Man (1968) and Has Been (2004). link
There's a Facebook page with 3,000 more people than Brian May's Save Me page currently has, dedicated to nominating William Shatner to be the Governor General of Canada. It's an absurd and largely tongue-in-cheek proposition. I'm not sure what that says about Facebook, or Save Me or humanity in general, but it's true nonetheless.
omg!!!No way!!!!!He can not pull that off. It ia gonna sound like shit. Why would he pick such adiffulcult song? That sucks. Freddie might have gotten a giggle out of that!!!
