I'm glad i didn't buy it myself....no offence, but i don't think it's worth £30 or however much it was.
It advertises it as though inside the book there are rare pictures inside...well, i have seen 90% of them already! And as for the 'rare' videos, some of them aren't rare as theyre pulled straight from Live at Wembley and We Will Rock You dvd's. I don't know if they advertised the vids as being rare or not, but what DOES annoy me is the fact that come Feb, we won't be able to watch these vids anymore.
What do they gain in taking them down, really? I don't get why they don't keep them up. What if someone purchased it after Feb???
Tad dissapointed, but hey...it's Queen at the end of the day, and it's something else to add to my collection :)
Yep I got the Book aswell :) I Loved the way it was put together with the photos & handwritten lyrics I just wish they had put some more info about Queen & the songs though
But yeah I agree with you I'm so glad I didnt buy it with my own money! it was £32.99 in HMV I saw :-O!!! but then again the CD's bump the price up.
But overall i think it's great plus I have got a lot of stuff this xmas to add to my Queen colection xD hehe
Haven't read the booklet of the CD version, but I guess it's just the same but bigger.
imho this is a great way of offering new releases.
The price can go down about 10 euro, but overall this sort of thing makes the choice between buying and illegally downloading a more difficult one.
Just look up the new Spinal Tap release for example. Great stuff!
I was quite disappointed with it. There aren't all the handwritten lyricks... it's like the best-ever booklet in the world, but not something that it's going to please collectors of Queen-related books. I must say that the box is beautifully crafted, anyway.
In 2009, that is a total rip-off. Mick Rock's Classic Queen offers 1000% better content and costs 20 gbp .... Queen continues their typical 80s and early 90s business model, releasing cheap and recycled products. Disappointment!
