Brian's fan club letter, now on his web site has this interesting bit:
"As I write, there is an important one-off performance on offer, in the USA, and it remains to be decided
whether we will take up this particular challenge."
I wonder what this "challenge" could be? A show with Adam Lambert perhaps?
I find that unlikely.
I think its more probable that it was the RnR Hall Of Fame annivarsary celebration concert, and they decided "not to take up the challenge".

Wasn't there talk of a 46664 concert at Madison Square Garden?
If I'm not mistaken, Spike and the guys played that gig a few months ago. He mentioned it along with a hideous story about a plate of brownies, served steaming hot at an outdoor restaurant in Manhattan . . . click on the link for "newsletters" for the rest of the story and Spike's recollections about the rehearsals and the show.

i think they're gonna do it. why would brian even talk about some "offer" if they would not do it.. he would not mention that! so our next guessing should be who's gonna sing with Queen there...
I think Brian may make the occasional guest appearance when Adam Lambert goes on tour. If Adam tours the UK, I'd be very surprised if Brian does not go on-stage for a few songs.
