NOTES
-----
Here's a recording I got several years ago from Tim G. on the hub. It is the same source as the 1st gen recording
that is circulating but, in my ears, it sounds better. The 1st gen has an important amount of tape hiss and this one
is free of this and sounds clearer. If you look at the spectrum, you will suspect it to be a mp3-sourced recording
but I'm sure it was hiss-reduced. Moreover, the 1st gen has two cuts in Love Of My Life and Now I'm Here which were
patched from another source or a higher gen of the same source) on this recording. I don't have any clue about the guy
who made the remaster and if he used a genuine source to fill the gaps. My point is that the recording has been so well
remastered that I would be surprised if these extracts were from another show. Don't ask me any lineage, I don't have
any but if the 1st gen is genuine, this one is at least a first gen.
So about the recording, there are still unanswered questions. Who made this remaster? Are the filling gaps genuine?
Does an alternate source exist or is it a higher gen of the same source? Is there any known lineage? Any piece of answer
is really welcome!
About the show, there's much to say! It is the second Hot Space show and we don't have anything but an uncirculated video
of the first one. Queen is still playing with the setlist (as they will during the whole 1982 year...). They are some
very unique moments. After Get Down Make Love, the audience sings We Will Rock You and leads the band to play a short
improvisation of the song. At the beginning of Save Me, Freddie and Brian are not synchronized making Freddie shout:"It
didn't start so fucking well!". They also played a unique guitar/keyboard solo which will never be played again (maybe
it was played on the first night in Gothenburg...) and a small Not Fade Away jam before Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
I really hope getting more information about this recording. Of course, don't convert it into mp3 unless for your own use.
Enjoy it!
