Well I've joked about it often enough. What a shame - I was watching interviews of his only a couple of weeks ago and thinking 'fuck he's lasted a long while'.
Regardless of how shitty his 80's movies were, he was (like that Michael Landon guy who died in the early 90's) a model for anyone fighting a cunt of a disease. My hat is sincerely off to him.
Join me in a round of Unchained Melody, folks .... you all know the words.
In interviews, etc., he always came across as a good guy. He fought the good fight. I'm glad he was able to live out his last days in a somewhat private manner. Rock on Patrick Swayze.
My grandmother died of that - she lasted 9 weeks from diagnosis, not much older than him. So deadly. Well done for all the fighting and brave determination.
^yep, more upset over Keith Floyd than Swayze to be honest.
RIP to both but more to Keith who was THE celebrity chef that all the others want to be,the man was a complete legend on and off the screen.Gordon Ramsey isnt even in the same building as Floyd when it comes to cooking food on tv and giving it an 'energy' that the audience could appreciate.
Such an incredible spirit and such a incredible will to live. Never seen anyone fight this disease as hard, and with as much determination as he did....
Its amazing, the love inside~take it with you.
Rest in Peace Patrick
XO

Celeb deaths always seem to come in threes Mr.M.
Although there were about 6 at the time MJ popped his clogs.
They reran an interview with he and Barbara Walters (I think) this morning. He was still smoking then, and I guess never quit even though smoking is linked to pancreatic and stomach cancers. He said that if anyone told him that he would live a goodly time longer if he quit, then he would, but not until then.
