send me an email address and you can have the vocal track (its on my skydrive) |
mooghead 05.09.2009 10:55 |
A small part of the vocal track I have is shared with guitar, but not much |
mooghead 05.09.2009 11:04 |
I have under pressure too, a few tracks are shared but there is isolated bass, guitar drums... (they are ripped from games so not the full multis) if enough people want them I will put them all on my skydrive and post my email address |

The multi's from games always seem less satisfactory than the full ones. Have listened to a few (other artists) and I deleted them quite quickly. |

Partial multis are surely better than none and you still get your fair share of isolated gems |

What happened to the original post? You said that you were surprised or shocked or something that Roger 'used a metronome'. I wonder why people choose to delete their posts? It seems quite pointless to me - especially with no explanation, just leaving it blank. |
mooghead 05.09.2009 18:41 |
Because on one of the drum tracks it sounds like there is a metronome keeping things in time but I'm not so sure on listening closely |
Bohardy 05.09.2009 19:41 |
You are a top, top man Mooghead. Sincerest thanks. It's been too long since the last multis leaked, and I've been dying for new stuff. This kinda stuff is the holy grail for me. |
jeff63 05.09.2009 22:07 |
Dude, I just have to say thank you for posting those. As a composer / producer and as a Queen fan from age 12 (I'm 46 now!) - to be able to hear some of this stuff in isolated forms like this is just awesome. Thank you for sharing. |
The Real Wizard 06.09.2009 00:57 |
This stuff is incredible. Hearing the guitar parts on their own is just surreal. |
Erin 06.09.2009 01:30 |
Thanks! I bought the songs from Guitar Hero, but I wasn't clever enough to record the different tracks. ;-) I suppose we will have more goodies when the big Queen Rock Band track pack comes out. |
brians wig 06.09.2009 03:36 |
This is great, thankyou. I've always wondered whether the music on these games was the real thing or just performed by session musicians. Looking forward to more - if there is any! |
Vali 06.09.2009 04:13 |
Many tks, enjoying this stuff a lot !!! |
Rien 06.09.2009 07:48 |

Has anyone ben able to download and play the hotel california file? My Audacity has a bit of a spaz when it exports mp3's, hence the big wav files |
mooghead 06.09.2009 08:45 |
link Sod it, I hate people that don't share. 180 odd pages to go through and some great multi's (the Who ones are really awesome, baba and wont get fooled again) all you need to play the vast majority of files is Audacity... Now... bring on Rock Band Beatles!!!!! link (password = ets1) |
Sebastian 06.09.2009 09:28 |
Of course, first of all, a million thanks isn't enough. Some comments: Hotel California: What a voice! That bastard can sing that well without making any effort. In My Life: Always a big favourite of mine. I got the goosebumps with the chordal backing. Champions: I was wrong - Roger does sing backing vocals in the album version. I don't hear Dr May though. About the guitar work: sheer genius! If I Fell: So bloody beautiful. Nowhere Man: Sends shivers down my spine. From Me to You: Words are not enough... Can't Buy Me Love: Ditto. And I Love Her: They were masters of double-tracking indeed. Under Pressure - Bass: Priceless! Space Oddity - No Acoustic or BV: Sounds more Floydian. This Boy: Wow! Yellow Submarine: Nice to hear Ringo again (as in WALHFMF) Up - Guitar: Great, including the nice harmonics at the end. FBG: Nice to hear how raucous Fred could get. Very nice guitar choirs. Btw, how on earth do I play a .mogg file? |
mooghead 06.09.2009 09:49 |
You just import mogg files into audacity, it opens the tracks seperately. You can then export each individual track as mp3/wav... whatever.. |
mooghead 06.09.2009 09:55 |

Ok, wont get fooled again is a mogg file and bab o'reilly is an ogg file. Doesnt matter, Audacity can still open them both, plenty of isolated tacks in there including the amazing moonster on drums...... I am also going to put Hungry Like the Wolf on there, just incase anyone was ever in any doubt about how amazing John Taylor is on bass... link Enjoy |

link I have added a few more bits to this. Notably, Champions, bass only, Fat Bottomed Girls (still hate that song title) bass only, Under Pressure Stripped ( cant seperate the tracks on there, mainly lead vocal and piano ) and a new and better remix of Hotel California. I also have the seperated 5.1 mix of Hammer to Fall if anyone is interested. Its nothing fantastic (the synth only part is quite nice though) |

^^ not everybody is a wizzard with audacity:) and where to get the multitracks.... I am just a fan:) |
mooghead 14.09.2009 12:43 |
In audacity to create silence just drag your mouse over the part of the waveform you want to be silenced then go to 'Generate' then 'Silence' Simples |
Bohardy 14.09.2009 13:20 |
Again mooghead, a million thanks. Under Pressure is stunning in that context. The mix somehow breathes new life into the song. I'd never have put UP in my top Queen tracks, but something about that version has made it go way up in my estimation. Brilliant. |

FriedChicken 21.09.2009 19:47 |
How many true multitracks are out there? I mean real unmixed multitracks so no stems (mixed bounces of groups of instruments e.g guitars or vocals), 5.1 rips or rips from video games. Does anybody have a list? |
mooghead 22.09.2009 02:37 |
Looks like there are only 4 as of this moment in time, rumours of a fifth (Stone Cold Crazy) due to an acapella that has appeared on youtube but no sign of a full multi for it. |
FriedChicken 22.09.2009 06:04 |
Isn't there a Stone Cold Crazy somewhere on a Guitar Hero version? Maybe that would explain the solo vocal. |
Bohardy 22.09.2009 12:23 |
FriedChicken wrote: Isn't there a Stone Cold Crazy somewhere on a Guitar Hero version? Maybe that would explain the solo vocal. It's not that Niek. Have you not heard it? The version on YouTube is a vocal slave acapella. All Freddie's vocal takes on one track, with nothing else. I can't see how this could have cropped anywhere than as part of the full multitracks. Besides, I'm sure the rumours of an SCC multitrack started quite a bit before the vocal slave appeared on YouTube. I'm also sure, and someone will confirm this, i'm sure, that three or four others were rumoured to exist at around this time. Is it definitely the case that the stems of WATC, FBG and UP came from video games? I can see a need for guitar-only and guitarless versions of those (and others) songs for Guitar Hero. Not being particularly au fait with these games, would the other stems have come about because of Rock Band? My list: Definite Multitracks Brighton Rock Killer Queen Bo Rhap Get Down Make Love Probable Multitracks Stone Cold Crazy Possible Multitracks ??? |
CM 22.09.2009 14:02 |
Thank you very very much for these multitrack files!!! I must say I have been really surprised by the C-lebrity multitrack. I would love to get the rest of the Cosmos Rocks album multitracks. Is that possible? I also found really strange no more instrumentals like C-lebrity were out there after the album was out... Thanks |
Negative Creep 22.09.2009 14:59 |
Someone on here claimed to have gotten the multitracks for SCC and others, but refused to divulge any info on where from or upload them anywhere - because this is the Queen community. They wanted to keep them to themselves, despite having only stumbled across them on another forum - under the pretence that if they let any "mere fans" get them, their little supply will dry up. |
mooghead 22.09.2009 17:20 |
Nah, there is stuff out there shared by collectors only but If there was a SCC multi it would have got out by now. I have no idea where the acapella on youtube came from. (probably Greg Brooks, he is a cock tease and has no carrot to dangle now the Bo Rhap multitrack is out there) |
Negative Creep 22.09.2009 17:43 |
Pretty sure it's out there. It's just that no one who obtained it from it's original source has been willing to either share it or make its location known. |

Thanks for all the wonderful links. I am stunned at the abundance of goodness that we get from the internet these days ;) Not that the Queen stuff wasn't spectacular, but I am shocked to have heard an authentic multi-track demo of Eagles' - Take it Easy. I've never heard a demo of the song (no banjo on this one, Leadon's b-bender somewhat different, Meisner's harmony vocals high as ever), and then I'm treated with a multi-track demo. I have put Somebody to Love in there. Its nothing spectacular. Remember the videos on the 1st hits dvd didnt have a centre channel so there are only 4 'tracks' for each song, so no seperation, just a shift in emphasis on each intsrument. Bicycle Race sounds great in 5.1 (or 4.1 in this case), am on it now. |

Interesting stuff. Does Brian play acoustic guitar in the first half of Under Presure? I always thought it was the Red Special? Or are my ears deceiving me? |

That's 12 string action going on in UP isn't it? What sort did he use, boffins? I always suspected it was but I've never given that song much of a proper listening to. |
GAP 11.10.2009 19:53 |
Perhaps, in Sail Away Sweet Sister (to the sister I never had), that's what I might say, I'm amazed! These guitar overdubs and solo are so clear that show to us Brian's talent. The feeling in his vioce is unique and Freddie's part is almost sounds like Brian's, except the falsetto. What about Don't Try Sucide?. |

The stripped versions of Need Your Loving Tonight and Sail Away Sweet Sister are absolutely gorgeous. Anyone interested in the brilliance of the subtleties in Queen's music should check out the bass work in the few bars leading into the guitar solo of Need Your Loving Tonight (from about 1:50)... so tasteful, and so perfect for the song. |

GAP 15.10.2009 23:05 |
Firstable, in Comin' Soon, the Freddie's doubled-voice is perfectly mixed. Even the track is not from the album, I love it too much because of the arrangement is slightly diff'rent at the beggining but the Roger's drum compass sound leading the song it's simple unique. And Rock It( and the other one of course, Champ) the only thing I would tell you sincerly, When I hear that stripped, it gets down to my soul........................... |
mooghead 16.10.2009 12:14 |
"Even the track is not from the album," What do you mean? |
GAP 16.10.2009 21:51 |
When The Game album was mixed for 5.1 channels, the original track of Coming Soon wasn't found so they used an alternate take and mixed it. That's the reason at the beggining the chorus sounds a little dirrent but the remain is almost entire. That's what I tried to say with "slightly different and not the original track fron the album". |
mooghead 17.10.2009 10:06 |
I know. Thats what I said when I posted that I had uploaded it. Everyone knows that. |

Would you mind posting DSMN, SM, DA an' AOBTD and thanks for all your extraodinary work? |

Sweet Lady instrumental is absolute fucking vocal and guitar genius. Thank you very much for posting these Mooghead. |

After a long hard working week I'm back. Hearing the separate 5.1 channels give us an opportunity to imagine and enjoy how they recorded the tracks of each song. The lacking of a Queen anthology (like the Beatles, of course) directs us to look for new ways and techniques to get more of what we adore, the talent of four performers making music and that's what they're considered one of the best group worldwide. I've got a doubt my friend, have you already heard the rest of Mooghead's uploads? |
stark 27.10.2009 06:41 |
Really decent of you to share all that stuff - thanks. |

Have added 'Good Company Ambient' and 'Good Company stripped'. Listen to Ambient through different speakers for more seperation. link |
GAP 28.10.2009 22:56 |
In Good Company track we can hear 'the banjolete' and also all the Brian's guitar arrangements clearly. This gives to the song a Dixieland jazz band style. Keep on gettin'babies like these n' name 'em little mooghead kids. And talking about little things, can I ask for Crazy Little Thing Called Love stripped, please please me? |
mooghead 29.10.2009 03:17 |
There is nothing to be stripped from Crazy..., its a very basic track. What are you expecting? |
mooghead 29.10.2009 03:44 |
Added Dragon Stripped. Not doing Crazy, there nothing to reveal. |
GAP 29.10.2009 08:29 |
Freddie's voice has a special form to sing it, not high notes but the kind of singing like a rockabilly rythmn. That is. |

It's not a banjolele, it's a baritone ukelele. The banjolele was used for Leroy Brown, not for Good Company. |

My oh my...mmmmm...one by one. For the basic track of 5.1 Crazy Little Thing Called Love, what a pity! No more words. On the other hand, in Good Company, you're right in the name of the instrument, it's a banjolele and not a banjolete. But I'm gonna check it out if they played it only in Bring Back or both. Just gimme sometime, alright? |
Sebastian 30.10.2009 08:29 |
I can save you the time: 'Sheer Heart Attack' inner sleeve credits Brian for 'genuine George Formby ukulele-banjo'. 'A Night at the Opera' inner sleeve credits Brian (below Good Company's lyrics) for 'Genuine Aloha Ukelele' An Aloha ukelele is a ukelele, while a ukelele-banjo is not a ukelele, but a ... duh, ukelele-banjo. Now, in the 'Making of...' thing, Dr May uses the banjolele to show how he composed GC, but it doesn't mean he used that same instrument for the recording (same as with Rog playing acoustic on I'm in Love With My Car or a Fender Rhodes being mentioned for Best Friend). |
mooghead 31.10.2009 17:14 |
Why argue about it? Its a synthesiser anyway... |

I'm in a five day delay for answering, I'm so sorry. Dear Sebastian: Firstable, let me tell you something, your website Bechstein it's the most complete anthology album-song database I ever seen. Then, the inner sleeves credits information you mentioned are correct. Maybe you could forgot to ckeck the Brian May's On The Record interview in QOL Interviews. There it's mentioned that in Bing Back a George Formby Ukelele was used not the banjolele. In the case of Good Company in the same interview Brian mentioned "four different kind of guitars" with the help of John's little amplifiers and a volume pedal. I'm reviewing two more sources to check for Good Company and I almost got 'em. See ya soon, mate. |
Sebastian 02.11.2009 21:45 |
> Maybe you could forgot to ckeck the Brian May's On The Record interview in QOL Interviews. There it's mentioned that in Bing Back a George Formby Ukelele was used not the banjolele. Actually: 1. The interview (from a mag issued in early '83) doesn't contain any info from Dr May about Leroy. 2. What happened is: he's asked about Teo (the QOL transcript is wrong) and he says the thing about the koto (another mistake of his). 3. The person who first transcribed it to the internet made the editor's note about the George Formby Ukelele... he or she forgot that it was not a ukelele or a banjo, but a ukelele-banjo. Actually, the proper name of the instrument is reversed: banjo-ukelele (hence: banjolele). 4. The person who copied 'n' pasted it to QOL made more mistakes. 5. What's more believable anyway? An interview done 7 years later, or the credits written just when the album was finished? Good Company does have loads of guitars. So? Is it impossible for Brian to have recorded guitars and ukelele? |
GAP 02.11.2009 22:23 |
You mean that these errors in that QOL interview section won't be corrected? When you look for information about the tracks, you have to trust in what it's written in the album or what is told by the group in a interview. I know you have to check it out many facts in order to get the most beliveable info. Another source that I found was in wikipedia and there it says the banjolele was used for the song. I've got the Questions and Answers Section ( from 14.10.2002 to 10.08.2004 )by Greg Brooks, it's the last part I'm reviewing. |
Sebastian 02.11.2009 23:10 |
Greg Brooks is the last person I'd go to for that kind of info. Wikipedia... same thing. Anyway, let's see: * The album sleeve mentions a ukelele for GC, not a ukelele-banjo. * Both link and link cite the ukelele, not ukelele-banjo (aka banjolele). * Photos from Brian in that era (e.g. shown on the 30th anniversary DVD) show Brian with a ukelele, not with a ukelele-banjo (aka banjolele). * The instrument sounds exactly like a baritone ukelele, and quite different to the ukelele-banjo (aka banjolele) that appears on Leroy Brown both live and in the studio. There are many, many, many things about Queen that can't be concluded (at least for now) with full accuracy. But this isn't one of them: Brian played a ukelele-banjo (aka banjo-ukelele or banjolele) on Bring Back That Leroy Brown and a baritone ukelele (a completely different instrument) on Good Company. He may have used the banjolele to compose GC, but not to record it. |

Very funny!!!!! I have some comments about suicide, bike, loving, sister & STL tracks. But later. Ah, and have you got GOFLB and DSMN over there? |
GAP 04.11.2009 20:40 |
Suicide. When you listen to John sliding his fingers on the strings it creates a bass effect that really sounds incredible and it seems like a kind of swing or blues style. Only one track of Freddie’s voice is appreciated, the other vocal track would be enjoyable to hear the high notes and screams when he sings “You need help………….”, if you have it Mooghead. |
GAP 04.11.2009 21:31 |
Rock it. Roger’s drum tempo gives the song his unique style, maybe this is the way he composed it first like a demo. Until 2.32 minute, Brian’s guitar appears in his classical rock n’ roll and heavy style but so clear, what a virtuoso he is! Excellent Freddie’s initial vocal part. The possibility of isolate the bass and synth here, permits us to appreciate the other song’s parts and let our imagination “spread the wings and fly fly away……..” |
GAP 04.11.2009 22:10 |
Loving. It could be so impossible imaging to listen to this song without the acoustic guitar part but it is. Basically it’s a Freddie’s voice, bass and drum track (no guitar chords until 1:56 minute). Very nice Deacon’s rockabilly bass-rhythm song. He knew how to do these ones. |
GAP 04.11.2009 23:23 |
Sister Stripped. It’s a Brian’s beautiful composition, no doubt about it! The guitar overdubs and the feeling of the solo are so exquisite. Brian’s guitar talent on his maximum creation is heard. Bass at low volume and a small part of the drums going along the song gives it another atmosphere. Freddie’s contribution with no more words than subtle, soft and tender. |

Bike 3 & 4. Basically drums alternating vocals tracks of Freddie. Chorus are on an octave low and guitar chords and overdubs are well-separated. No bass track. It sounds different. It’s like hearing the group at the studio performing it. |
GAP 05.11.2009 12:04 |
STL3. Piano is almost isolated so main voice and chorus can be appreciated mostly. Part of drums is audible. Guitar chords appear until 1:43 and solo with drumming along. No bass. Just one question: Why did you add at the end a live clap rendition? |
mooghead 06.11.2009 02:36 |
"GOFLB and DSMN over there" Nope. |
