I just finished watching Robin William's new movie "World's Greatest Dad" on HD net. The movie is actually not supposed to be released until August 21st. This movie, before I get to the point, is quite simply brilliant. Despite it's dark, often crude nature (sexually awkward) there lies great meaning and depth that can cause reflection. It's one of the better movies I've seen in a long while. Now to the point. This movie prominently featured Queen's Under Pressure. The song kind of acted as the "theme" song for the movie, which as a fan, was very enjoyable.
At one point in the film, (don't read any further if you don't like spoilers) William's character was teaching in his poetry class. One of the students got up to read his alleged poem, and his poem was directly stolen from Queen and David Bowie's Under Pressure. When the student (who's African American) was finished, Williams stated it was a Queen-Bowie song called Under Pressure -- to which the student replied "Oh, I thought you wouldn't know that one." William's replied "I'm white." I thought it was funny, and I'm sure it's something where you'd have to see it for yourself.
Anyway, toward the end of the movie they do play the song in its entirety. The song was very effective in delivering the message of the movie. It was pretty cool!
