Queen features a lot on Family Guy. This Sunday the Battle Theme was on there. In the latest Playboy, there is an article with Seth MacFarlane and he states (paraphrasing) that Queen was the last rock band he liked and that they had more musical achievement than the Beatles. Check out Queen on Family Guy:
I love Family Guy, and I have noticed all these 'mentions' of Queen, and it is a great feeling knowing that they are still making it in popular entertainment in terms of 'mentions' or popping up somehow.
One of the first examples I can think of was a sitcom (British) from around 1976 called either Robin's Nest or possibly Two Up, Three Down. Whichever it was, the male student character (Robin) had the Bo Rhap (or QII?) poster up on his wall - which has been featured in many films/shows since.
Well done to Family Guy for keeping this up, and more than once or twice too :)
Also, there was a recent episode of British comedy panel show 'Have I Got News For You' which was guest hosted by Brian Blessed (Vultan in Flash) in which he had the joke:
There are reprts in the press that Gordon Brown is dead..
