Really enjoyed (enjoying?) the whole QPR thing, but keep coming across interesting bits and pieces that I'd forgotten about coz they're not on a physical release yet. Here's what I've come up with, and please let me know what I'm missing - Studio - Runaway Live - Under Pressure Red House Little Bit Of Love Take Love The Stealer Warboys Time To Shine We Believe Voodoo Las Palabras De Amor Surf's Up, School's Out |

Long Away ? |

I read somewhere that QPR tried "Take Love" in the studio (a natural choice, given it was finished before TCR was started), but weren't satisfied with how it sounded, kind of like "Mad The Swine" off Queen. Of course, I also read a Paul interview where he said they didn't record it, so who knows. I have to believe they at least *tried* it in the studio. |
Simon Brown 14.08.2009 06:43 |
Yeah, I thought about Long Away, but how much of the song was done? Do I remember Brian doing 1 verse on 2 nights on the 2005 European tour? As for Take Love, yeah, I think Brian said they started it but didn't think it was working. Paul also said there were songs they left off the album, which I interpret as at least one more unknown track. I assume it wasn't a Brian one given he was unhappy with his ability to contribute - given he sang, played guitar and bass I can only assume he meant he wanted to write more than 3 tracks. |

Pesaro and Budapest. He later played it again in Yokohama, Nagoya and Fukuoka and there's where I thought it was a more complete version but ... nah, just a couple (but really appreciated!) verses. |

A live version of "Take Love," from one of the North American dates, would have been a great B-side track for either "Say It's Not True" or "C-lebrity." It's sort of become the QPR equivalent of "Hangman," played live a lot, but never finished in the studio and given a proper release. Now both are sitting in a vault somewhere. At least I can say I heard "Take Love" live and in person. And if anyone at Queen Productions is reading this, making "Take Love (Live from [insert venue here])" available at the Queen Online Download Store would be a very appreciated move. Not to mention, it would cost little to master and post, but the fans would definately snatch it up and QP would reap the financial benefits (wink, wink). |

That gives us - Live - Under Pressure Red House Little Bit Of Love Take Love The Stealer Warboys Time To Shine We Believe Voodoo Las Palabras De Amor Surf's Up, School's Out Dragon Attack Long Away For all the complaints of the set list being too static, there was a hell of a lot of variety really. |

Wasn't A Little Bit Of Love on one of the USA Tour releases of the special Live CDs? There were three in all. They were physical releases. And the hungarian song Brian played on the last tour? |

The three CDs were given away when you bought the Gold and Platinum tickets on the USA tour. I have uploaded them here to view. They all featured the live tracks that were available via queenonline at the time. |

Here's the gold cover CD |

And the Platinum cover |
rhyeking 15.08.2009 11:52 |
So, if you bought Gold or Platinum tickets (on the North American Tour), they mailed you the CDs which contained the previously downloadable tracks from the European Tour? |

They were in a goody bag with stickers, Specially made poster, laminated pass, programme and other items too. Anyone from USA on here who can elaborate? A very nice set. |

There's also the live verisons of songs like Hammer To Fall at manchester 2005 where Roger and Brian shared vocals. Seriously, this is the kind of thing that fans want to hear in decent sound quality, yet the live downloads keep missing this stuff out. They really haven't got a clue have they? |

Europe Live was a part of the VIP packages on the '05 NJ and LA tour dates. Europe Live Gold was in the gold packages on the '06 North American tour and Europe Live Platinum was in the platinum packages. I got a platinum package for the '05 NJ show mainly to ensure I got a decent seat at the show. It turns out I could have just bought some from Ticketmaster and been ok. There was supposed to be a special "box set," which turned out to be a plain metal lunch box, with the ROTC DVD and CD stuck inside. :-S We did get stickers. I guess that was meant to decorate the lunch box? The rest of the package was the poster, promo cd, laminate, and an autographed program. I think it was $500 for the package, if I remember correctly. Oh yeah, A Little Bit Of Love is on Europe Live Platinum. |

Yes, thanks guys....these are the ones. I thought the 'Europe Live' with the coloured sleeve was for the two 2005 US shows but didn't want to commit myself. |

Sorry, I know the title is general about stuff being released on CD, but I was thinking more along the lines of things I could actually go and purchase - official commercial releases. Cheers, Simon |

GT, for what it's worth, I'd love a repackaged TCR with some of this stuff mixed properly (ie, not downloadable from a sound-desk recording). I suppose if a US tour had happened, it might have been released alongside, but I understand it's probably a pipe-dream now. |
e-man 19.08.2009 07:13 |
I read in an interview somewhere that Paul stated there were several songs NOT included on TCR that were worked on in the studio - so I guess there's some stuff there. (as well as some takes of Take Love I would imagine) as for live work audio-wise - apart from the US 06 tour - I'm pretty sure they have everything videos Hyde Park 05. was the other open air gigs filmed as well? dunno if they recorded the screen feeds on the 06 tour - but seeing as Brian said they didn't record the audio - it doesn't make sense to record the video unless you record the sound properly as well as for 08; all gigs were on screen as well, so it's a question if they recorded the feeds or not. they recorded the audio on all gigs (apart from some of the south american ones?) - so it's very possible to release a good dvd seeing as they used at least 6 cameras. and of course; chile and argentina had gigs recorded both by the band and tv I hope we get something more one day; Hyde Park 05 and South America 08 - that would be terrific! |
