very often I asked myself, if there is any recording of the impromtu live set, the band gave after the shooting from May 15th 1986, like they did after the WATC-video-shoot. Would like to know, if anybody heard of something like that....
yeah they did...it's said f.ex. in "Queen Live " by Greg Brooks...and it seems to be logic....they had they equipment there (because they were rehearsing in that studio for the Magic Tour), and as a "thank you" for the fans, who came to the shoot....
I was there - there was no live set after the shoot. It took all day to shoot the footage seen on the promo. When we walked in it was the first chance to see the new rig (pre tour) which was really impressive. It was an interesting day, all in all...
It was a great day, I remember it well.
There was definately NO live set after the shooting of the video, which as stated took all day.
Roger wouldn't even do a bash around the drum kit, even though people kept shouting out for him to play.
I took some photos on the day, as did some other fans and get some autographs too.
We did get a free T shirt though and if I remember correctly we had to sign a piece of paper to say we agreed to be in this video and that we wouldn't have any monetary payment etc....or was that at Radio Ga Ga.....or both......can anyone confirm?
Freddie was in a great mood and very happy. In fact they all were, considering making videos was not one of their favourite things to do. But then they had the tour coming up which they were all looking forward to.
I also remember going outside the studio into a large marquee to get some food and drink which was laid on for us all.
Great times.
I love John's pose near the end of the shoot, where he mimes the line 'right till the end'. He used to be so incredibly shy, but right there he dares to let himself go. Great video.
...and the meal at lunchtime was a Virgin Airways flight meal, which they'd obviously bought in... I remember the day well too. It was very long and just wired up for playback for the shoot. Didn't like the song much and still don't really...
I was there too (and at the Radio GaGa shoot). I left before the end so I didn't get a tee-shirt, but it was a great day. Freddie bumped into me a couple of times as he made his way through the crowd. But my then girlfried (now wife) got bored and wanted to leave.
Also, I think there was a reason why John was looking chirpy on that day - but best not get into that.
I enjoyed the GaGa video more as I was in the front row for the whole day and was able to speak to the band throughout (and no girlfriend with me!)

Let's just say that it appeared that some stimulants were involved. I didn't witness the actual intake but he definitely appeared to be in a world of his own on the day. It was a great day though and a fantastic experience to share space with my heroes - for the second time within a short space of time. I still have the band's autographs knocking around somewhere in the garage in a small notepad.
