My version is unfortunately lossy. Indeed, would be great to see that one appearing as really lossless, as it seems it is circulating as lossy nut not that much as lossless ! Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

Regards, Olivier, Belgium. An awful lot of my recordings were either bought from record fairs or traded before the advent of MP3. I have an awesome archiving system for this stuff. Anything that was really good quality was recorded to CD (back when CDs were £3 or £4 each and the recorders for the PC were £300 each!), and the not so good stuff went onto minidisc (because they were much cheaper!). Bradford is on CD. I notice that it has been uploaded onto another thread now, but I'll dig mine out and compare to the new upload and if mine is better sound I'll upload it. |

I almost get nostalgic for the pre-internet era of trading - seems more exciting somehow? Not that I'm complaining! ;-) Your system sounds good but I'm guessing that your MiniDisc transfers were lossy? |

I only have had a very worse edited version on an LP called "Fairytales Of Yesterday" before the mp3 came arround. So my better and longer version of this show is lossy, too. regards W. |

All the reports at the time i bought my machine (1994?) suggested that the reason minidisc was smaller, was that CDs contained a lot of "dead space" that contained non-audio information. |

Minidisc was sold to me as being smaller because CDs contained lots of frequencies which were outside of normal human hearing whereas MD did not. Needless to say I didn't buy it. Or an MD player! :-) |

Regards, Olivier, Belgium. Oops, I checked again, and your version was qualified as lossless indeed, but I had some doubts watching the frequency analysis. Anyway, I donwloaded the version here (as shared by RoyThomasBaker), and the frequency analysis are much better without any doubt. So maybe your version was higher gen, I haven't gone further in the analysis yet. Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |
