When George sang Somebody to love at the Freddie tribute the was things flying round that he was going to replace Freddie I dont know how this would have works can you imagine George singing TYMD,WWRY songs like this. What do you think
We all know George is a brilliant Pop/ballad singer, with his character and artistic leanings i don't think there is a rocker in there somehow, whereas Freddie was indoctrinated with Rock as documentated i.e. Jimmi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Beatles, Elvis et all, can't recall any quote about Paul Rodgers???[/img]
This has been discussed many times making this thread like..."ROUND 7,629 of 'Should George Michael sing w/ Queen." I'm not trying to blast you though...
To answer the question, I think George is a first rate pop-vocalist, but aside from the really pop oriented material, I just don't see him pulling it off. It just has never sat as a proper fit to me.

He's not artistic, and he is overrated, mostly because he is such a slick singer, and people tend to fall for that.
Actually, TQ, the Wham album "Make It Big" was quite listenable. It did have 3 top ten singles, and you can't tell me that Careless Whisper is a crappy song. It's not. It's gold. Yes, it's George Michael, but he did pen quite a good song there. In fact of the three singles, only "Everything She Wants" did not hit #1 in both the US and UK. It hit #2 in the UK.
Shortly thereafter, both Ridgley and Michael released solo albums and we found who the talent and who the spare was.

Good singer, but crappy songwriter.
Any GM lyric > TCR
Are you on drugs ?
That guy has a great voice but he never made a listenable song after he left Wham
Oh please, TCR was just embarrassing. xD
OK I've had enough with stupid comments like this. TCR is a great album, so I'm sorry if you are so obsessed with Freddie you can't even give it a fair chance.
