This has been widely debated before, but this is what I think about your setlist: - I'm tired of I Want To Break Free and Radio Ga Ga - Chinese Torture was annoying (or painful, as somebody said in a previous thread) in the last tour, so I still prefer Last Horizon. - I Want It All should be always performed; the instrumental middle section is one of the highlights of the show - '39, as played in the current tour, should stay forever and ever - Under Pressure and Dragon Attack (instead of AOBTD) should have been played in the current european tour. - Crazy Little Thing Called Love is still a joy, and so diferent to Keep Yourself Alive, so you can't compare both songs and substitute one for the other. Anyway, KYA would be fantastic. - Ok for Long Away and Tenement Funster, but this one has been already played in previous Roger solo tours, so I'd prefer something really "new", as Modern Times Rock'n Roll (can you imagine Roger at the B-stage performing it instead of IILWMC? ok, it would be a slower version for sure but it would really rock!) - Ok for the special songs for specific countries: LPDA in Spain/South America, Teo Torriate in Japan ... but why not doing the same for the rest of european countries? Sail Away Sweet Sister in UK, Dreamers Ball in France, etc etc (in this case everybody's free to dream about the song to be played in each country!!) - More songs from the new album: Small, Still Burning, Through The Night, Warboys ... even Voodoo, also at the B-stage with Paul, Bri and Rog jamming with it ... that's what I think !! and thinking this way suposes a +3h setlist [/img] |

Yeah I agree with Vali, Hope they will try some other songs. Though it is more realistic what Toppie said, there won't be so many changes. I don't believe in leaving out CLTCL and replace it with KYA. Too different. I think Last Horizon is a highlight and very impressive. Chinese Torture is too difficult to understand for the average spectator...it is also painful. Brian did a piece in Antwerp and people were closing their ears with their hands. That can't be the purpose right:)? Why not TF or RTWW? Roger played 10-15 yrs ago, that really long! I'd like to see TATDOUL back... |

This is what I'd like to see for a US tour and being realistic about it. I'm not expecting White Queen & things like that. Some of these songs like FBG, UP, IWIA, AOBTD, FLML and YMBF are recognizable radio hits here and should be played or considered. And I agree, never ever get rid of '39. Intro (Cosmos rocks) 01 We Will Rock You (fast) 02 Tie your mother down 03 Fat Bottomed Girls 04 Under Pressure 05 I Want It All 06 Another One Bites The Dust 07 C-lebrity 08 Surfs Up… School's Out 09 Feel Like Making Love 10 Love of my life 11 '39 12 Long Away or You're My Best Friend 13 Drum Solo 14 Tenement funster or I'm in love with my car) 15 Now I'm Here or Dragon Attack 16 Say it's not true 17 Bad company 18 Still Burnin' 19 Guitar solo - long version 20 Chinese torture 21 Last horizon 22 CLTCL 23 Stone Cold Crazy or Keep yourself alive 24 The show must go on 25 Bohemian rhapsody Encores: 26 Cosmos rockin' 27 All right now 28 We will rock you 29 We are the champions 30 God save the queen I think htis is do-able, too. We know they can do most of the songs except for WWRY (fast), YMBF, Tenement Funster, Now I'm Here and SCC/KYA. I think they need to change the setlist up a bit to match what the US audience would like to here or would recognize. I can't believe they didn't play I Want It All here last time. That song is becoming popular here. But I have a feeling the setlist won't change too much....They boys seem to have lost their imagination lately. |

Why not an medley of old songs like Queen did on the Magic tour that would be great too. Not only for the average fan butt also maky it enjoyable for the hardcore Queen fans after all they are earning the most money of them whom are buying everything. |

Adolfo wrote: I dont think tenement funster is realistic Someone quoted Bri (I think) the other week saying that they had indeed rehearsed Tenement Funster following a request from Taylor Hawkins to play some rarer stuff.... There was also a Brian vocals song I think. I forget which, but I would love to hear Sail Away Sweet Sister, or Leaving Home Aint Easy..... or Sleeping on the Sidewalk!!! :D So I wouldnt write it off just yet! |

This would have been my set list: Intro (Cosmos rocks) 01 Surf's Up . . . School's Out ! 02 Tie Your Mother Down 03 Can't Get Enough 04 Fat Bottomed Girls 05 Wishing Well -or- The Stealer 06 I Want It All -or- Headlong 07 C-lebrity -or- Still Burnin' 08 It's Late 09 Spread Your Wings B-stage: 10 Love Of My Life (Brian vocals) 11 '39 (Brian vocals) 12 Roger Solo 13 Tenement Funster (Roger vocals) 14 Las Palabras De Amor (Spanish-speaking dates) / Teo Torriate (Japanese dates) / Sail Away Sweet Sister -or- Long Away (all other dates) (Brian vocals) 15 I Was Born To Love You (acoustic) (Brian & Roger vocals) 16 Small -or- Call Me -or- Say It's Not True Main stage: 17 Bad Company -or- Shooting Star 18 Radio Ga Ga 19 A Kind Of Magic (Roger vocals) 20 We Believe -or- Some Things That Glitter (Brian on first verses on both) 21 Brian Solo / Bijou 22 Hammer To Fall 23 Crazy Little Thing Called Love 24 The Show Must Go On 25 Bohemian Rhapsody Encores: 26 Cosmos Rockin' 27 All Right Now 28 We Will Rock You 29 We Are The Champions 30 God Save The Queen |

I wish they play I'm going slightly mad- what do you guys think if Paul can sing it? |
boca 06.11.2008 09:41 |
Also Innuendo would be possible to sing |

I might go even further..imagine if Paul quits touring with Queen. If Roger uses a fill.in drummer in some tracks (like he did at the Pavarotti & Friends in 2003), it could be possible! A possible setlist could be: Tie Your Mother Down (Brian vocals) Headlong (Brian vocals) Ride the wild wind (Roger vocals & drums) Fat Bottomed Girls (Brian vocals) I Want It All (Brian vocals) Tear it up (Brian vocals) I Want To Break Free (Roger vocals) Tenement funster (Roger vocals) Say it's not true (acoustic, Roger vocals) Love Of My Life (Brian vocals) I was born to love you (acoustic, Roger & Brian vocals) '39 (full band, Brian vocals) Drum Solo I'm In Love With My Car (Roger vocals & drums) A Kind Of Magic (Roger vocals & drums) Guitar Solo Bijou (Freddie taped vocals) Last Horizon We Believe (Brian vocals) Too much love will kill you (Brian vocals) These are the days of our lives (Roger vocals) Radio Ga Ga (Roger vocals) No one but you (Brian & Roger vocals) Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie taped vocals) encore: The show must go on (Brian vocals & Roger vocals+ drums) We Will Rock You (slow & fast, Brian vocals) Hammer to fall (Brian & Roger vocals) PS: I know there are no Champions or Crazy little, but we survived without them in the past solo tours, so..;-) |

I've never understood the 'realistic' or 'dream' setlist threads for Tours. If Q+PR had any balls they'd mix the show up everynight. There is nothing duller than playing the 20 songs in every show, and adding one or two here or there. The addition of Long Away early on in 2005 showed what Brian could do when he's alone on the catwalk. Instead he plays LOML and '39 every single time. With the full band joining in on '39, Roger's solo and building of the kit, and endless clothes changes, the show is as choreographed as a pop band. |

One thing to remember when it comes to bands like Queen touring, who have not done so in many years (excluding the 05/06 tour). A lot of new faces are going to these shows. I know 06 was my first show seeing Queen and I thought it was something I would never get to do since I was only 4 when they stopped touring in the 80s. A lot of these people who have never seen Queen want to hear the songs that were chart toppers; their most popular stuff. So while a few obscure songs would be awesome, there would be a lot of irritated people if they didn't play songs like AOBTD. I was thrilled to hear Brian throw in Bijou. I would have loved to see more from Innuendo tossed into the mix as well along with TSMGO as it's my second favorite album, but that would also mean other songs would have to be removed from the set list in order to play them. That's just the way it works I guess. heh |

At the risk of becoming involved in yet another "dream setlist" thread, here's what I'd expect (not necessarily like...although a full, fast Hammer would be sweet!) to see if, by some act of God, they make it to the US. Intro tape: Cosmos Rockin'/SUSO intros 1. Surf's Up...School's Out 2. Tie Your Mother Down MEDLEY 3. Fat Bottomed Girls 4. I Want It All 5. Another One Bites the Dust END MEDLEY 6. Small (B-stage) 13. Bass solo (B-stage) 14. Drum solo (B-stage) 15. I'm In Love with My Car (Roger vox, B-stage) 16.
