Thank you very much. Can anybody upload here audience recording from first night at the Wembley Stadium ??? [/img] |
robymacster 02.11.2008 05:50 |
Can you put this bootleg on rapidshare or megaupload? Mediafire is very slow! |
Phoenix501 02.11.2008 11:35 |
Can any of the bootleg specialists throw some light to which tracks are from 11th and which from 12th? Thanks for sharing this ruth |
The Real Wizard 02.11.2008 11:53 |
It's all from the 12th... from a radio broadcast, without overdubs that were later added for the official release. |
Kef 02.11.2008 12:24 |
Thanks, ruth.oliver, this has been a fascinating share. I have to say this: Of all the things Queen fixed, why didn't they fix up John's bad notes during the second chorus of Tear It Up? ROIOs/bootlegs like this both make you appreciate the band more, yet conversley, they make you criticize them just a bit more for making the fixes. Interesting to see that they fixed more on Wembley then with Milton Keynes '82, where all they fixed in terms of vocal problems was Freddie's bad cracking on 'locality' during Fat Bottomed Girls. |
pittrek 02.11.2008 13:14 |
Wow Olivier, you made a sad Queen fan very happy. Thanks a lot ! I'll send you an e-mail about you-know-what in a few minutes |

Is it just my copy or does NIH seems to have a CD reading problem? 1:38, 1:41... "don't worry baby I'm safe and s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s... (*skip*)" then again a few seconds later. I didnt listen the rest of it, just that song and stopped when the error appeared. Same glitch happens in VLC and Winamp. |
Marcos Napier 02.11.2008 16:35 |
On the other hand, this is a perfect example why we miss mr. Deacon. Amazing performance. |

I didnt listen the rest of it, just that song and stopped when the error appeared. Same glitch happens in VLC and Winamp. Goddamn you're right ! I haven't kept the EAC log file on that one, don't know why as I usually do. I now recall that there was that error signaled, but when I listened to the file I haven't heard that. But now I know why, I was listening to the CD itself, and not the extracted files ! So indeed this file has error problem. I'm currently trying to fix that, but it could be because I (ab)used my external CD too much, and he could very well have problems now. If ever you came across some other songs that had this problem, just let me know and I'll try to see if I can fix them ! Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |
Queenrockyou 02.11.2008 18:37 |
OK I uploaded a new version of the track "Now I'm Here", also taken from the same silvers, which are in fact quite used. So there are still some errors detected by EAC, but at least you don't have the same problems as previously. Errors came unnoticed when I heard the track, but they are still there according EAC, so I'm not happy to share something which is not perfect. I tried to extract this track several times but it never got any better than this second attempt. Anyway, you can download it here, and replace the first "Now I'm Here" that was shared at first : http://www.mediafire.com/?yoyytnyided I would be happy if someone who has the silvers could upload his own version and replace my shared links with his. Sorry for not being able to do it myself, but if I come across a better version, I will upload it to replace that one. Now uploading with rapidshare AND mediafire becomes very difficult, my external DVD burner is not in perfect shape, and even my scanner shut down recently without reason. It could take some time before I can share something new here ! But I won't stop ... Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

Thank you anyway Olivier :) your kindness is much appreciated |
Marcos Napier 02.11.2008 21:53 |
Thanks for the fix, I'll get it later on because I'm in a different computer right now. I listened to most of it (80% maybe) and it seems that the problem was just in NIH, but it was in the whole song, lots of errors there. There are some logs included with the files, but none seems to give any hints of a problem, if I could understand them. I almost missed this post because some bug in QZ made it appear as "no subject". Can anyone fix this too? |
vivaqueen 03.11.2008 06:54 |
MERCI BEAUCOUP FOR ALL YOUR GREAT SILVERS AND GENEROSITY |
Phoenix501 04.11.2008 05:25 |

Thank you Olivier. I didn't have downloaded it yet, but if I understand what you said Bob, this bootleg play exactly what I could hear if I were in the Wembley stadium 22 years ago (sigh), isn't it? |
Queenrockyou 04.11.2008 11:45 |
Right, this is a soundboard version without the overdubs that have been added by the band later. Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |
Queenrockyou 06.11.2008 03:16 |
Hi, here is a reupload of "Is This The World We Created" that was said to have problems. I succeeded in getting an extraction without any errors for that track, so just replace the old track by this one : www.mediafire.com/?czyyi0mlwwv Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

Thanks for this great recording, ruth.olivier!!! :) But unfortunately there is another problem. This time with AKOM track (I do not know if this is only my error or the track is ripped with this error). In the end of AKOM (6:30 - 6:37) there is a short repeated part of this track. |
PiotreQ 08.11.2008 14:58 |

Why does the whole thing sound slowed down, I sped it up to 102% and it sounded like the released version and every other version I've heard. Or have Queen always played this slowly, it really lacks the energy at this speed. |
The Real Wizard 07.01.2009 02:45 |
Just to make sure we've got the terminology right, you're talking about speed and not pitch, right? |
mcain 07.01.2009 06:31 |
Definately both, compare it to the release, or any released version of any of the songs and you'll notice it's about a semitone down, and feels sluggish. I sped it up to 102%, which affects both speed and pitch and it sounds more like what I'm used to. Just curious whether they played Wembley slower, or whether something in the recording affected this? |

Very strange, I didn't notice this before until you pointed it out. You're right, it's slightly slower. The audience recording plays in the same speed as the official release, so it looks like it's a problem with the tape > CD transfer. You have good ears [/img] |

Just curious whether they played Wembley slower, or whether something in the recording affected this? Indeed, great catch. I never bothered to check it because I have the Flash Freddie bootleg which runs at the correct speed. But you're right, this A Day At The Stadium bootleg does run a half-semitone too slow. |

Genius !!! Excellent !! Sure this will please a lot of people here !!! I hope this will be shared also with mediafire or rapidshare, as always, and maybe you should try and create a new post maybe, this won't bring the large attention it deserves here on page 3 of an old post ;o) Nice job you made, for sure, someone needed to deal with that, and I'm happy you did !!! I'll have to learn to do that myself one day... Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |
