according to link - the ukraine gig will be the official dvd from the tour that's pretty brave - the very first show. paul sounds great - but they have alot of overdubbing to do!!!! c-lebrity sounded terrible, and some of brian's solos were off... |
FatBumGirl 04.10.2008 11:30 |
Yeah , it would be good to have a song from each gig for the DVD to pick out the best performances. |
QueenSite 04.10.2008 11:32 |
also Roger's vocals were not very good, or, at least, not as good as later in the tour |
Michael Allred 04.10.2008 12:38 |
Is anyone really surprised (assuming it's true)? A crowd of 350,000, directed by David Mallet....what, you think it was only gonna be available through some shitty Russian/Ukraine web site or something? |
Michael Allred 04.10.2008 12:45 |
and one assumes a companion CD will be released as well. |
e-man 04.10.2008 14:03 |
not surprised - apart from the fact that it's the first gig on the tour, and it only featured to songs from the new album (not counting SINT) looking forward to it - the live broadcast has some errors on it, playing wise -so they definitely has to do some fixing in the studio |
onevsion 04.10.2008 14:12 |
Bet your ass they record Rio as well. |

Although I can see the commercial sense in this, in as much as it was being filmed in HD for TV anyway, it seems strange to release the first show of the tour. By their own admission, the band got so much tighter as the 2005 show progressed and they say that by the US shows they were really smokin'. As ths tour goes on they will improve in presentation and sound, and the possibility of songs from the new album to be added to the DVD will be there (didn't they only play two new Cosmos Rocks songs in Ukraine?) Essentially this new DVD will not really be as interesting as the Super Live In Japan which at least contained exclusive versions of I Was Born To Love You and Teo Torriatte. In addition, as well as Roger's voice not really being at it's best, it also wasn't a Queen crowd due to it being a free event. If you record a gig that is a paying event attended by a far greater percentage of true Queen fans as opposed t 'Joe Public' the crowd reaction and interaction is far better for a DVD release. I would be surprised though if they don't film a later show for release at some of the the South America dates so that we have two releases from the tour as per last time. |
Tero 04.10.2008 15:07 |
Would anybody be REALLY surprised about this? The exclusive bonus dvd of the album (the edited version) of Super Live In Japan was used because it's costs were practically zero, and this time around Hollywood Records is footing most of the bill for their promotion costs. Minimum effort for maximum profit, that's the Queen Productions motto. |
Ray D O'Gaga 05.10.2008 01:44 |
Bitch bitch bitch, that's the Tero motto :-) Anybody REALLY surprised about this? (note the passive-aggressive smiley ;-) |
Tero 05.10.2008 04:06 |
What's the matter? The truth hurts you that much? |
kingogre 05.10.2008 04:25 |
Tero, for someone who doesnt take any interest in Q+PR you certainly post a lot about them. |
Tero 05.10.2008 04:27 |
Thats what happens when you start using the name of a band I'm interested in. |

True... but if you compare the energy of the guys and setlist to the latest show ( Hannover or....) three or four songs are now already shortened. Paul takes a day or two rest between the gigs. The first nights his voice has probably the cleanest and crisp sound |

I thought Liverpool was planned for filming |
kingogre 05.10.2008 05:29 |
Queen+Paul Rodgers???;) What did you think of the Amsterdam 2002 show, the Queens jubilee and the Al Murray show then? They were billed as just Queen then. |

Eggsqueeze me, but I didn't realise this message board had turned into a "positive thoughts only" club. Perhaps you should try to get that into the written rules if you want people to shut up? |
e-man 05.10.2008 15:23 |
what they should do is include some tcr bonus songs.... do they have screen on this tour? that means the footage will look something like Imagine from hyde park. more than sufficient for bonus footage. a dvd from tcr tour with only two tcr songs would be weird. don't get me wrong; I'll be the first to buy it. I'll que up for anything Queen/QPR release as live products. I still think they should film every gig and release them online as official bootlegs - the same way The Who does |

Even live at the bowl has a good share of Hot Space tracks, even if they didn'ty do Calling All Girls, Body Language and Life Is Real which they did later on that tour |

Cosmos Rockin' (official version on the official Queen channel on YouTube): link Same song, from TV broadcast: link Besides choosing better angles to show as much as possible that the audience was having the time of their lives during that song, the mistake is gone (notice on the TV broadcast how there's a point where it seems at least two of them started singing the chorus before the right time and stopped, then there's a bit of a messed up segment, and then they finally manage to fix it and get back into the song). |

whatever they decide to do - I hope they put some good extras on there |
