Cosmos Rockin
Say It's Not True
C-Lebrity
Surf's Up School's Out
Hmmm, i'd day Rog is THE songwriting force of the album, all his songs stand out
Though Small is not too bad either, and I can't figure if it's Brian or Paul.
I thought it would be closer a call between the three of them as songwriters, and yet Roger has always been my favourite member since Freddie died, at one point I was even convinced he would have made a decent frontman for Queen !
Now let him sing Funster on the Tour !
yes bring on funster.
and if we're goin there why not:
more of that jazz.
fight from the inside.
even ride the wild wind. (personal fav. i know he did it on his solo shows)
Back when the 2005 tour was going through I mentioned he should have sung a stripped down version of Drowse at the front of the catwalk, a bit like they then did with IWBTLY.
Listening to his voice in the Ukranian gig, I don't think that's possible.
I know it's an obscure song but so was Long Away and Brian got away with it! :) hehe

Roger the songwriting force?? I must disagree.
Cosmos Rockin' -This song is hardly an original composition. The strength of the song is in the performance.
Say It's Not True -Nice little ballad, and I really like the new arrangement. BUT remember Roger's original acoustic version. It was boring. What makes this song good is the arrangements. I wonder who came up with the idea to turn this song around.
C-lebrity -so much has been said about this one: a boring riff, stupid lyrics, lame melody, nothing special, IMO. Warboys is MUCH more interesting hard rock song than this.
Surf's Up...School's Out -This one I really like. The best Roger track on the album. Still, I think that it was Paul who came up with the strongest songs on the album. Warboys, Through The Night and Time To Shine are probably my favourite tracks on The Cosmos Rocks.

And this is what I really like about this album; I'v read many people in different forums talking about how weak these songs you mention are. But I've also read many people saying Through The Night, for instance, being their favourite.
And this is exactly what always happened with any new Queen album.
Glad to see how QPR can generate the same different reactions. In my opinion, this is a good example of how rich this album is. In my opinion, 'cos I'm sure someone will write in this thread very soon in the "what a piece of crap" or "this is not queen, TCR sucks" terms.
cheers
Surf's up should've been called 'Follow that Dream' but apart from the title i think it's brilliant so powerful and yet has change in direction like Innuendo has.
Love Warboys too much better than Pauls version on his solo album and Time to shine only one not keen on is call me,
what do you all think?
