"In North America only, we will be releasing EVERY Queen studio album on 180 gram vinyl LP. The first 4 catalogue titles will be Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera and A Day At The Races. These albums have not been available on vinyl for 20+ years and we intend to include every feature from the original releases! The Cosmos Rocks album will also be released on vinyl at this time. Stay tuned for more info."

Very interesting news, despite the release being N-A only. I hope there will be some proper information about the nature of the 180gram releases telling us about possible re-mastering (or lack of it) and source of the audio.
Perhaps once released we'll hear some reviews of the releases on this forum (although I'm sure they'll be discussed on stevehoffman.tv and other similar sites)
YES!!! I'd just decided I wanted to find the vinyl albums and look at this...wow. Perfect timing :)
I think I'll have to make some money and import them over to the UK now.

This is remarkably asonishing! I REALLY hope that these sell well over the long term...and even WHEN they come out. I also don't understand why "Queen I" is not being released...anyone?

Where did you get the info from? Not that I doubt you, just trying to figure out where I can buy these from.
Who makes these decisions??? In the USA, the only part of the world lacking a true wealth of Queen fans, and the richest nation on Earth utilizing future audio digital technologies, they will release Queen studio albums on 180g, so all the 3 or 4 hundred die hard fans here vs. the 3000 times as many Euro-fans, can get the benefit of buying albums they can play on their record albums, provided they can find one that works which probably would happen only if it's a total stereo with giant speakers that sound worse than an iphone.
Next they ought to release The Cross's greatest hits on DVD Audio in the USA, complete with a leatherbound record vinyl of John Deacon and the Immortal's Ain't No Turnin Back.

That's pretty funny AmeriQueen! Laughing from here in the U.S.! Whoops! With that said...I am psyched for once something good with Queen happening here. It's probably why it is happening here to help their popularity. Remembmer it is a different record company from the rest of the world so...I guess take it up with EMI if you are not in the U.S. of A.
By the way...not throw salt on the wounds but...what the hey is 180 grams? Crackers? I'd like to know.
