Hi all queen fans, been a while since i posted a topic.
I have a few words of advice to any fan planning to travel to glasgow for the show on 11th oct.
Scotland will be playing Norway at Hampden park the same day as the gig, big deal you may say!!
Glasgow city centre will be completely packed out and i mean packed to the rafters!!
Those of you travelng here from other parts of the U.K or from further afield please take my advice if you hav'nt already booked accomodation please do so A.S.A.P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to both the game and the gig as i wouldnt miss either.
As a tartan army footsoldier i never miss a Scotland home game, every pub, club and off licence in and around the city centre will be jam packed with mad football supporters in kilts, flags and drinking huge amounts of alcohol. (those of you bringing kids BEWARE!!!!)
It will be an amazing atmosphere in glasgow city that night, i can't wait. The secc for those of you who have never been is only a 10 - 15 walk away or £2 or £3 in a taxi.
Get into a pub early and soak it all in people!!
Please take the accomodation advice seriously though, it will be difficult to book close to the venue due to this massive footie game, get to wherever you can in glasgow city centre as early as you can as it will be wall to wall football fans in every pub.
See you all at the gig, i'll be the mad git in front of brian wearing the kilt and singing as loud as paul!!!!
Baz
thanks.going with 2 kids, but not staying over.is the secc near the footy(rugby man here lol).and as a person who seems to know glasgow well, if we come motorway will we avoid the footy trafick.coming from the south.
The warning about the kids is noted.... you mean that all those drunken football fans will be singing racist and nationalist songs, in the same way the Rangers fans did when they came down to Manchester a few months ago..... bet they don't go and trash the City of Glasgow like they did in Manchester!
It will be nice to see Glasgow city centre packed out, because i can gaurantee that Hampden Park wont be packed out that day!
David----- I drove through the city centre on the Motorway the other week.... there are some bridge repairs being carried out on M8 around the city centre, which can cause big delays... not sure how long the road works are planned, but they look pretty major to me and i can't see them being finished by October.

Woodie, please don't compare the tartan army with those fuckwits, but your comments about them are spot on, and for your information Hampden is already a sell out!! 55,000 tickets gone in minutes.
Hope you have a great night in glasgow!!

Hi David,
the motorway will be busy from around 1.30pm to 3pm from the city outskirts to the clyde tunnel slip road after the slip road you should be cool all the way to the secc & city centre
Best of luck pal!!

!
With Englands history in football violence and hooliganism, i find it laughable that the English seem very quick to pick fault with any other nation that has a problem, English casuals have rampaged over europe bringing injury, death and destruction wherever they went for the last 20 years, now suddenly after one incident in manchester, the whole of Glasgow is tarred as a war zone? LOL.
Well said Gordon. English football fans have disgraced the game and tarnished the reputation of the rest of the home nations. The events in Manchester in May were an absolute disgrace but not typical of Scottish football fans in general. Any time I've encountered the tartan army on tour they have been a credit to their country and team. Something tells me that a couple of us have strayed terribly off the subject here so perhaps we should get back on point. I'm going to the secc show myself aswell and its good to get some pointers from people in the know. Also no offense to any English people on here, I'm sure you all aggree its a small minority that usually lets you down.
