Hello All
I was watching the Guns n Roses DVD - Use Your Illusion 2 (Tokyo) and was pleasantly surprised when right after the Godfather Theme Axel came onstage and hummed a few lines from "Sail Away Sweet Sister". It seemed like the other members of the band were surprised as they simply stopped playing. It was unannounced, nor credited. He did not even mention Queen, just started singing "Sail away sweet sister...." I loved it!!
Anyways it made me interested in knowing whether there have been instnces where other bands have performed Queen songs live or said things (good/bad) about how they feel about our beloved Queen or any particular member. I'm not talking about interviews, but comments made/Queen songs sung live onstage. Like the one by Celine Dion which was discussed here somwtime back....
Thanks and Regards,
P Nair
Iron Maiden play the riff of "Keep Yourself Alive" at the end of their song "Sanctuary". I know this for a fact because I was in attendance in one of their concerts here in Calcutta, India and I immediately recognized the riff.
Axl sang Sail Away Sweet Sister as part of their set back then. I have a show they did in Paris in 92 and it was played there too so it wasn't a spur of the moment thing.

Thanks for that info.
And I do remember someone putting up a link on this forum to a Celine Dion clip where she sings WWRY and says something like "Freddie we still love you".
Thanks again for your comments guys.

I think Freddie would be better off without Celine's love...
