Well "Bri" is off on another rant on his soapbox.
This time hoardings. What a curse and scurge they are on the earth.
It will be very interesting to see how many of these evil hoardings will carry advertising for the new Queen album in the summer. Those of use who were around for the release The Works, Magic, etc will remember how heavily they were promoted with billboards all around London.
Funny how he never got outraged on his soapbox about how a large percentage of the fans experienced the awful pre-sale ticket fiasco when his tour with the band was announced.
He has turned into a moaning old bitch. Shut up Brian ffs. Go back to your mansion and play with your silly little band that in nothing like the real Queen.
while he does seem a bit whiny, I would have to agree at least to the point of these idiotic signs being distractedly harmful to motorists
I would like to see a ban based on brightness level or something like that
it is not just these television looking adverts, but dynamic signs in general have gotten so bright here and I am sure everywhere
Oh come on people - like you've never moaned about anything?
Just because Brian chooses to moan on his site, whereas you might moan down the pub about things that piss you off in the world, please dont pretend in some way Brian is any more of a whinger than the rest of us, cos that is just lying.
You've even come here to moan about Brian moaning! Pot. Kettle. etc
well to be honest, i can't stand brian's moaning anymore... is that rock'n'roll or what?
is it this what queen-fans are waiting for?
even bono from U2 is cooler than brian may!
I have to say that for once I totally agree with him. In the Uk, you cant even fart in a car without getting fined yet you can have these things blaring at you. Its utter bollocks.
I once asked Brian on his soapbox what he thought about the fact that the American military used his song We Will Rock You on the battlefield of Iraq to pump up the soldiers before going in to do their thing. He said he wasn't moaning about that and felt quite proud. He can definitely be hypocritical.
Brian does tend to become overly dramatic when he complains about things, but with this issue he does seem to have a bit of a point. Those sorts of displays must be a distraction to motorists and thus a safety hazard.

Bono is as cool as genital warts.
Brian May, on the other hand, has at least a bit of talent to back up his bitching.

Yes...sorry, despite his endless whining, Brian May cannot lose the coolness throne ;)

I think you've missed the point - Brian said he didnt mind the troops using WWRY because that was what they needed to help get them through the horrors of being a soldier. Whats hypocritical about that?
Are you not confusing, as so many people unfortunately do, the soldiers with the people who start wars?
Brian seems to be against the wars in Iraq etc, in fact I imagine he's generally anti-war, as we all should be, but its not the soldiers fault theres a war - they're just doing their job and going where their told to - the politics involved are irrelevant.
In other words, whilst he may be against them being there and the politics of the situation, Brian has nothing against the soldiers, and if WWRY helps them do a difficult and dangerous job, then they have his blessing.
Thats not hypocrisy at all.
[QUOTEThat's the difference - complaining about Brian and complaining about almost everything under the Sun are not the same.
P.S. Lol
You have a point. But perhaps making statements/complaining about human and animal rights, pollution, war etc etc is more relevant than the flac vs mp3 issue, where is all the new Queen material, not another box set and on and on.
We all complain about the things that are most important to us.
Ultimatly of course, if we don't read it, don't go to the site. Right? If we do, we shouldn't complain about it.

Generally, yes it's more relevant. But on the territory of Queen's fans' site - animal rights are not as important as FLAC vs mp3 or box sets. I'm not sure if any of those who like to complain about Brian's complaining are complaining somewhere outside of QZ; and just give Brian any tribune - and he'd be complaining over there as well as in his Soapbox. Though I agree with most of his complaints, but sometimes he can't stop.

I wonder if theres a certain of guilt associated with being so wealthy in a world where there are so many without. I don't for one minute begrudge him one penny of the money he earned, or how he spends it. Perhaps his forum provides a platform for him to alert people to things that otherwise they would know nothing about. This is a positive thing. If we learn, very good. If we disagree, at least we have entertained another viewpoint and considered the subject more than we otherwise might.
I just see it as a positive thing I guess, and welcome his or anyone elses views.
