Is this the game that is really violent? Cop killing, shooting hookers etc? If it is I am suprised that Brian is proud of the inclusion of queen songs. If I am wrong and this is a family-friendly game, I am full of shit so ignore me. |

if parents raise their children to believe the actions portrayed in a videogame/series/movie/song are alright to do in real life, the world would (and probably will) end. Yes it's a great game :) better than The EyE ;) |

This is, with the exception of GTA III, my favorite game of all-time. I love it when they introduce Queen on the radio, they say something along the lines of, "These guys almost took over Switzerland." Hopefully the lot of you caught the joke. ;) |

This game is great, tons of new stuff, a big step ahead of GTA: San Andreas, but my favourite GTA remains GTAIII. I don't know why, maybe because the main character in GTAIII never talked and his name wasn't given which made him quite badass. No, I refuse to acknowledge him as "Claude Speed" as per GTA:SA. It's a dumb name, and it's lame. But overall, my favourite game of all time is probably Chrono Trigger. Old, but great game. Then there's Soul Blade for the PS, Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX...argh, so many great games. But GTA is probably the most fun gaming series in terms of gameplay. And I liked how they introduced "One Vision" with the Switzerland thing too. But when I was playing I think I misheard it as Sweden and was like WTF!? |

There was nothing really like it at the time, with the exception of Driver -- but Driver was too protagonist for me, if you know what I mean. In addition, the character, as you've said, was silent, which made him that much more intimidating and interesting. For example, as I'm sure you will remember, at the end of GTA III he actually shoots his girlfriend in cold blood! Talk about an insane crook! GTA afterwards became more obvious, for lack of a better term. What I mean to say is that Tommy Vercetti, Carl Johnson, Toni Cipriani, and that other guy from Vice City Stories (can't remember his name) all had definite personalities. You knew who they were and what they were like. With this guy in GTA III he was whoever you thought he was -- there was room for lots of imagination. And in a way Mr. Bellic, from GTA IV, harks back to GTA III. At least with him you get to make crucial dicisions that affect the outcome of the game. So, for me, it's GTA III, and then GTA IV...everything else wasn't quite the same. P.S. I'm a huge fan of this gaming series. I bought the PS3 just for the sake of GTA IV -- call me sick, if you will. |

Steven wrote:Oh, damn! How could I forget the first point. Yeah, another reason I love GTAIII is, like you said, it was EXTREMELY revolutionary. I just went to a game store in 2001 and bought the game thinking the cover was cool. When I brought it home and started playing I was blown away because never before had I played any game that gave you as much freedom. The sequels were also fun but to me they were the same game with improved graphics, new vehicles and perhaps a few new features. But the basic premise was still there - commit crime.Saif wrote: This game is great, tons of new stuff, a big step ahead of GTA: San Andreas, but my favourite GTA remains GTAIII. Regarding the GTAIII ending, I liked it. :P If you're talking about Catalina, well, she deserved it. ;) She did the same to your character at the beginning of the game after you two rob a bank(or something). |

The first song I heard on GTA IV was One Vision. It was in the video (I think). Nice! |
