Recently saw the Moody Blues at the HR cafe in Orlando, Florida, and decided to check out the restaurant. I saw a pair of the black and white striped horizontal leotards Freddie wore, with a photo of him in them. I thought it was kinda cool.
Thought it would be fun to see what other Queen items you guys have seen at HR cafes around the world.
And don't say you saw the red special

They are upstairs in the corner, if you have a hard time finding them. Also, if you go the Disney walk, you will find a store that sells supposedly authentic autographed memorobilia. I saw a guitar signed by Queen, framed, for $7000
It was next to an old Richenbacher signed by the Beatles for $120,000.
Unfortunatly I left my wallet in the hotel, otherwise I would have picked both these up.
If you look through the book that they have usually near the door they also have some of Rogers drums, however they are very old, black and I think Yamaha, not the ones used on the magic tour, I have never seen a photo of him using these drums so I suspect they were either a very old set that he used to practice on or they were just lying around in a studio and got donated to Hard Rock
Hard Rocks are generally full of very cheap guitars signed by people plus the occasional nice one.
eg there's a Slash Les Paul, a Prince Cloud & a Bo Diddley cigar box job in Vegas, but there's also three hundred cheap Chinese strat copies signed by people like Madonna (???!!)
I recall Freddie's leotard (the red/green/white one, which can be seen on the Earl's Court video) being in Munchen. And probably some more outfits, like the leather stuff he wore during the Jazz-tour.
We try to head to the Hard Rock whenever we hit a new City to see what Queen stuff they have, heres some of the stuff we have Found:
Rome – Innuendo – original run pressings link
You can read about the visit here: link
Edinburgh – two Prints, one Freddie, one all four link
You can read about it here: link
Cologne – Gold Disc of a day at the races link
You can read about it here: link
And the Best hard rock for Queen stuff so far: Malta – lots! Jacket signed by all four, and a signed Brian guitar amongst more stuff! link link
You can read about the visit here: link
We also have pics of many more including of an original contract which is on the wall in a Hard Rock which shall remain nameless!
Sarah
p.s. avoid the ribs in Malta!! ;)
I think the Burns guitar was used on Long Away IIRC.
Mind you, I do agree that they have guitars that obviously were never actually used by the artist: In the Hard Rock cafe in Isla Margarita there's a Steve Vai S series Ibanez which he's never mentioned or been photographed as using!

Thanks! Wow, that's incredible. I have to see that store. Is it the Disney Boardwalk?
If I recall well, in Hard Rock Cafe in Spain (not Madrid, I think it was Barcelona), they have a pair of Brian's shoes used on the Magic Tour. Anyway I'm suddenly not certain if it was in Spain or in Oslo or Stockholm, but pretty sure about Barcelona. But that was a lot more than ten years ago...

Well, I got back from Florida 2 days ago :D I went to the Hard Rock...and indeed I saw Freddie's suit from the Jazz Tour. It was magnificent. I took some pictures...I also saw a picture of Freddie and Roger in black and white in there, but it was hard to take a picture of that because of the glare. Also, I went into that place with all the autographed memorabilia-the one coops was talking about. Boy, that Queen guitar is a beauty. Unfortunately, I didn't buy it-I tried to take a picture, but the guy practically attacked me...how was I supposed to see the sign "No pictures." It was the size of an index card and it wasn't in clear view. Anyway, it was great :D I want it.
I went to the Honolulu HRC while on my honeymoon. They have a NATO album autographed by all four memebers. As well as a photo of Freddie from the Crazy Tour era. I didn't see any Queen items while in the Maui HRC.
