Anyway here is that article that I beleive explains where all these multi-tracks are coming from... link Discuss... queenzonebootlegs@hotmail.com |

Are there any other confirmed multitracks out there that might be released someday that we know if? I don't know if this goes off the topic but it'd be great if any piano pieces made their way as hearing a solo piano acoustic of a song is just amazing :) |

Yes, there are. Im sure many have heard of the NIN album being released complete with all the multis for every song. I personally dont really like NIN that much. But I will be "buying" the album with multis as a form of support. The only type that the record companies recognize. Money. Im sure alot of people that have read my posts have been thinking...Man Id buy these if they were for sale. Well this is your chance to tell the record companies and artists that People DO WANT multis. If this NIN album does well. And they end up attributing it to the fact that people bought it for the multis...Well thats a good thing for people like us who want artists to release their multis commercially... poop |

The point of my last post was to say. If you are like me and want more artists to release multi tracks of their stuff you should consider buying this album. Thats the only way it can become a "thing" for cool artists to do. Like I said. I dont even like them but I want to stand up and say. If you offer this type of thing I will buy it... Think about it. If we trade these for free then we lose the chance to say something to the record companies( I do realize that NIN is on their own or without a major record label backing). But it still says something. Most of us always say to ourselves, "Man if they just sold these I would buy them...but they dont so I gotta do what I gotta do." Well here is the chance... poop |

Thanks for this thread. This has been discussed around other bands forum. I think most fans play it safe by saying "it won't happen" (multitracks masters as official releases), but this is a brand new music approach that would be very profitable for artists. Pioneers like Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, etc has offered multitracks online for remixes competitions. It was a very powerful concept, but in a very quiet way too. So far, there's no physical release of a complete album multitracked. My statement is simple: why not?. Times are changing, fans want different material to keep them interested, and the multitracks would become the flavour of the month. It's just matter of time: think what happened with Radiohead last year. Prior their shocking In Rainbows move, everyone could have thought "my God, are they nuts?. That's a commercial suicide" ... after the highly succesful "pay whatever you want, it's up to you, even for free" strategy, the physical album went number one in UK and USA. The first band or artist in releasing the physical multitracks will catch the fire. Everyone after that would have no follow other to copy the pioneer. Part of the great success of the "Classic Albums" DVD series has been the unique look at the albums, with engineers revealing multitracks sections that sound astounding. Alan Parsons revealing Dark Side Of The Moon comes to mind right now. It's a pity Brian May can't dig it. After all the fanbase hype and excitement about multitracks, Brian May should have done something smarter than trying to shut down sites, torrents and links containing files Cheers |

Sorry i wanted to post this in this thread... Its time for Established artists "Classic rock" to start being a little bit more reasonable and hip. The cool new thing is Multitracks. The First major band that releases "Classic" material is gonna be considered "Rock Gods". Right now NIN is getting a ton of hype. Basically they are adapting the 1000 fans motto. You basically take the album and box it up in a bunch of different ways and each market buys it the way they want... example... You make the CD. You make it available for DL on the Net... You make a DVD of Multitracks for sale... You make it in Vinyl... And others... This way the album doesnt need to be mega popular to be a success... discuss... Take it Easy by the Eagles...@ Queenzonebootlegs@hotmail,com |

Take it Easy by the Eagles...@ Queenzonebootlegs@hotmail,comWell, the problem is not the bands, mostly. It's the recordcompanies that are not up to it. But then again: bands indeed should have the guts, like Trent Reznor had, to say bye bye to their company and do everything by themselves. He releases everything by himself, then 'offers' labels the oppertunity to release the stuff in shop-ready packages. On HIS terms. If a company doesn't agree, he goes somewhere else. But companies ARE smart enough to take such offers. This should be the future. It's not companies that come first - it's the art that comes first. It's not the way it is now; sign a contract and then make music. It should be Artist creates and THEN finds someone that wants to release it. If one does not find anybody (with a well-known name this seems pretty unlikely though), there is always the oppertunity to stick to the internet-only-option. For one it will be beneficial to the artistic part of the music. The artist gives himself full freedom to create what he or she feels - not what the company wants. NIN's new album (a double instrumental album) would NEVER have been released in a regular label-situation. Companies hate double-albums and instrumental albums even more. |
