I wonder if you guys could answer this for me.
I'm asking about the tune for "Under Pressure".Was it written in the mid seventies.Bear in mind Queen's penchant for rehashing old tunes like they did with "Brighton Rock"("Blag")etc.
I'm not asking when it was recorded.I know they recorded it as "Feel Like" or "Brand New Start",as i've heard some call it,in 1981.
Feel Like is the prove that it was not written with Bowie.
I suggest that they had this idea for a track (Feel Like) and that they tried that idea again and made it into a real track with Bowie.
Sometimes songs have more than one working title. It's just something the band uses so everybody knows which songs they're talking about..
It could be a real title, or it could be called "The one with the bass intro" as well
Feel like was the skelton to U.P..
But in the inatance of D.B, the song was re-worked. The lyrical content in both songs are totally different, so the writting of the two brings forth U.P, but queen alrteady had the overall back groung tune in the works with feel like.
Uncering on how the bass line... One of, if not the most popular bass lines of all time came about.
Its been touted that Bowie thought it up, But then Bowie said J.D thought it up. I'd say the later thought it up.
