As we all know, all three nights at Paris 1979 were professionally filmed.
The only sources which I know contain material from these shows are the QTV 1 hour compilation and the Champions documentary, right ?
So what do we have ?
27.2.1979 (Champions documentary)
end of the concert
28.2.1979 (QTV compilation)
Somebody To Love
If You Can't Beat Them (except last minute)
Bohemian Rhapsody
Tie Your Mother Down
Sheer Heart Attack
1.3.1979 (QTV video)
We Will Rock You
Let Me Entertain You
Fat Bottomed Girls
You're My Best Friend
Now I'm Here
Don't Stop Me Now
Mustapha (intro)
If You Can't Beat Them (Last minute)
Spread Your Wings
Dreamers Ball
Is this information correct ? Are there any other sources for other songs ?
The 2-27-79 info is definitely all wrong. Someone just decided to say the documentary footage was from the first night in Paris, but it's not. Freddie said "Bonsoir Paris", and the song didn't match the convention video, so suddenly this person "concluded" that all the footage was from the first night. It's not quite so simple.
We had a discussion about this a while back, and Smitty is the one who cracked the code on a lot of it. I then once sat down for a couple hours to compare the footage to the audience recordings, and figured the rest out:
(US TV = "The Champions" documentary, broadcast 12-21-79, some of which has the Live Killers audio dubbed on top of the footage. Multi-camera footage.
Fan convention video = compilation of three nights. Single-camera footage)
From Paris 2-27-79:
"Good night" at end of convention video
From Paris 2-28-79:
Let Me Entertain You - US TV
Somebody To Love - convention video
If You Can't Beat Them - convention video (most of the song)
Get Down Make Love - US TV (some of the middle section)
Now I'm Here - US TV (a few bits)
Bohemian Rhapsody - convention video
Tie Your Mother Down - convention video / US TV (a bit of both nights)
Sheer Heart Attack - convention video, US TV (15 seconds of Roger)
We Will Rock You - US TV (10 seconds of Roger)
From Paris 3-1-79:
We Will Rock You (fast) - convention video
Let Me Entertain You - convention video
Fat Bottomed Girls - convention video
You're My Best Friend - convention video
Now I'm Here - convention video
Don't Stop Me Now - convention video
Mustapha intro - convention video
If You Can't Beat Them - convention video (some of the song)
Spread Your Wings - convention video
Love Of My Life - some parts used for official video
Dreamers Ball - convention video
Tie Your Mother Down - US TV (a bit of both nights)
We Are The Champions - US TV
Great ! Thanks a lot.
I know there was a discussion about this last year, I wish the "search" function would work.
Is there really nothing else for the first night ?
Before anybody asks, I would like to point out that I'm not the one who came with this 27.02.1979 myth :-) I only unfortunately "helped" spread it without having checked/confirmed it first.

Haha... oh no!!!
Well, as long as you correct your site, then the new myth can spread... haha... :)

Nice to see you posting here!
I might have asked you this before, but I can't remember. I know it was ages ago for you, but... do you recall Freddie eating a banana on the third night? People have been trying to figure out where this footage of Freddie on Superman eating a banana comes from.

Actually it's a compilation of 1.March and 28. February

We were there all 3 nights> had a drunken week in Paris. V special. Some of the gang met John D near the Eiffel Tower with his son (Richard?) who was about 4 years old.
Thanks for the link.

Hi Sir GH,
I can't remember a banana but that's not to say it didn't happen. It was such a mad week and, as you say, a long time ago.
There's something I do remember and would be interested to see if it's on a video.
One of us (Martin - who was interviewed at the Milton Keynes show and shown as a tube special when it was originally broadcast early '83) threw a top hat on stage. It had written on it "All the way fron the UK to say we love you" in (I think) white trainer polish. Fred picked it up, put it on and said "the things you have to do for money. You can hear it on Live Killers although I don't think that Love Of My Life came after (as on LK).
Someone also bought about 20 bicycle bells, brought them down on the first night in a carrier bag and handed them out. I lost mine :(

Oh, thanks. Never minded about it. Pittrek, about this Paris "March 1st" video - don't you know which song comes from what date?

Thanks for the link.
Yeah, really warm stories, it's like to kiss that time for us too! :-) I love short John Deacon story about Eiffel.
Right, I'm sharing this on the Queenzone tracker, right here: link
But we have a few unanswered questions. Would anyone kindly try to answer them, please? :) Many thanks!
Great work, SirGH, but Eleanor Roosevelt coined the phrase about great, average and small minds, not Phil Spector, though he may have repeated it. Haha
