I enjoy both of their voices greatly and I have been getting more into Paul's stuff in the previous couple of years but I think Freddie was a one off.
My vote goes to Freddie Mercury.
Isn't there someone on here that is computer literate enough to take over that site and send it somewhere where we never have to see it again?
I mean, it's ran by someone who obviously loves Bon Jovi, as they are still in the running for a "greatest band ever" award, an award that I will have to be jealous of the rest of my life. I mean, I know that Innuendo was no 7800° Fahrenheit, but Greatest Band Ever? Men At Work was the greatest band ever, if you look at duration / # of hits. They're not even mentioned.
I'm sure neither Paul nor Freddie is losing any sleep over the outcome of the contest. As it is, I would vote for the Freddie Mercury of 1978 over the Paul Rodgers of 1978, but I would vote for the Paul Rodgers of 2008 over the Freddie Mercury of 2008, since Freddie is very unlikely to do any singing this year. Prove me wrong, Fred!
Freddie no question, Paul Rodgers voice has a nice tone at times but when it comes to the vocal gymnastics like the Queen Catalouge his voice is shot, it sounds more like Roger Taylor's husky voice at times, two husky's doesn't make for a dexterous tone.
I also thought return of the champions was brilliant on a music level, but PR Vocals ruined it completely out of his depth!!! imho.
One good thing I can say about PR is at least he can sing a song or two, if Freddie continued his wild behaviour and was around today would he have been able to perform at his legendary level.
Queen could perform on their next a couple of belters from the News of the World.. It's Late and Spread Your Wings i.o. Of Love of My Life and TYMD. White Man would be a good one to hear also.
One from the Legions of fans!!!
Paul of course! I don't really like Queen + Freddie Mercury. I hate the fact that Freddie Mercury guy is singing all Paul's songs. Without Paul no Queen!

Please are you living in another World.Freddie was and will be the only lead singer for Queen.
Freddie was an amazing singer and showman. In my opinion the only true frontman of Queen. Paul on the other hand is a faboulus singer with a great voice even now, at the age of 58. But he is not the "new Freddie Mercury" and that was never his intentions. Though I think that Brian and Roger should have changed the name of the band. Queen was and will alway be Freddie, Brian, John and Roger. I would cast my vote on Freddie. Though I don´t dislike Paul.
Oh, please. What kind of an inquest for votes is tha? Would Paul Rodgers be singing with Queen if Freddie was alive and still singing with Queen, would this question even arise? The only reason he's there is because Freddie's dead.
They chose Paul to continue, fine. Is like take it or leave it. Does that make him number one? Number one of the "backahouse" to me.

I voted for Brooke McKinney link
Interesting to see that (when you go to the actual correct site) they have been "eliminating" guitarists. Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc. But the latest victim? Ace Frehley. Ace beat out those others? Well then he's probably better than Les Paul because he plays one, right?
You kids keep taking this poll seriously, I'm going to kissarmy.com and voice my disgust.
