The Show Must Go On (Remember fanmix) link All in all, thanks a lot for your critics and overall reviews - they really mean a thing to me. There's been several arguments about the authenticity of such records as Save Me (complete synth demo) and We Are The Champions (1985 rework). This is what i know about them: Save Me (synth demo) This is a synth demo made in promotional purposes (recorded somewhere about 1981 - actually, later that the original single and LP were released). This track was presented to me by one of the queen-addicted collector's - this is his personal mp3 encode from a better quality studio tape (which i never seen myself). You might call it a preview, because of a pretty low quality, but anyway, as far as i know, this is the only copy available. Presented by a collector from Hungary. We Are The Champions (1985 rework) This is a fine stuff. Not a midi source. A real extract from a real studio session, which belongs to a period of Highlander movie. John and Roger were experimenting with old queen material, trying to adapt it to new neo-romantic genre pretty much popular those days. Unfortunately, this one didn't see the light of the day. Because of it's rarity and value (about 10 copies are known to exist in Europe) t |

Thanks very much for sharing. By the way do you have some more info about these songs e.g. like the story about WATC ? ** FUN IT! ** |

WOW thanks so much Everly! Awesome Hijack My Heart demo I've never heard it and I've never heard the ending for the 'explosive' version of Innuendo. The Freedom Train demo sound exactly like the Happiness version and I'm pretty sure it's a fake. A few other fakes and fan mixes in there, but thanks SO freakin much for the Hijack My Hear demo!!! |

Thanks for more great stuff. I have the banned version of "Let Me Live" (or at least something that was labled as that)but never knew anything about it. Why was it Banned? Also I have "Fiddly Jam" and wandered since the begining sounds so similer to the end of "Hang on in There" (except maybe a diff mix?) Is it possible this is the extended ending of the release that plays out beyond the point where the release was faded out? Edit: I just heard the "Fiddly Jam" from here and its much different then the one I already have. Mine runs for 2:29 and is just like the end to HOIT (the backing vocals saying "Hang on in there" right after "Ok, do the change now" but contunues on longer than the release. Does anyone know about this one? |

Nice answer, thanks for it. But I was wondering, how can technically a song be banned and a band be sued by someone else if the track is not even published ? the Joplin family was not invited in the studio, right? So the band accepted to extract something from their studio and present them the track before having legal problems, and stepped back? It is something that I can't understand, even if the answer gives more light about that. Just a thought, not a critic. Regards, Olivier, France. |

I believe it was me who uploaded it in CD quality some years ago in this forum. This version is not a demo and has nothing to do with Rod Steward, btw (except the idea comes from that session). I don't know if this was a limited run or it was later withdrawn but this version was commercially released for sure. Someone said before that this CD was created from the same master used for the MIH promo cassette that also has that version. The story I had heard (and I have no proof about it) is that Queen "felt" that the track resembled Janis' song too much and they made the change in the last minute, removing those extra vocals. However, some copies ended with this version. ... or something like that. |

I once emailed Jacky Smith at the fan club (around 1999 maybe) and she told me something like "Yes, you could say it is rare, but really not that rare". Just to point out that not all the Mexican editions of MIH have this version of Let me Live. I have only come across one disc which has it, but I believe Wilki A. from Argentina has it as well. Now that I think of it, I lent that disc to my aunt last week and she kept it. I have to ask for it later, haha :). Wiley |

Hi all, Okay, I just gave CD4 a listen and have a few thoughts... 1) A New Life Is Born: Sounds fake to my ear, and I'll tell you why. Freddie's vocal and piano are cut from the Miracle Demos Medley leaked a few years ago, with some other drums and synth mixed over it. It fades out just where "I Want It All" would start. 2) Hang On In There: this just the "Fiddley Jam" cut from the aforementioned Miracle Demos Medley. 3) Rain Must Fall: a recording of a recording from a convention. Classy. 4) I Guess We're We're Falling Out: Again, snipped out of the Miracle Demos Medley. 5) Miracle (Alt take): Sounds like it was mixed from different channels of the 5.1 mix from the Video Hits DVD. Clever, folks. 6) The Invisible Man: the middle bit is definately legit, but someone snipped the whispering beginning onto the start and end of this. 7) I Want It All (Alt take): a legit demo excerpt. I had this years ago on "The Unabtainable Royal Chronicle, Vol. 1". 8) I Want It All (Guitar): from the Miracle Demos Medley...again. 9) My Baby Loves Me: Why not just give us the uncut Miracle Demos Medley in all its glory? 10) Breakthru: The Karaoke Mix from the official Japan release...thanks. 11)Scandal: Sounds like it was cut from different 5.1 channels...I'll have to listen to the DVD now to be sure. 12) Stealin' (12 minute): Legit demo, but not terribly new to collectors. This full version, by the way, was edited down and into the B-side version. 13) Stealin': Oh, look, the B-side version. Thanks 14) Hijack My Heart: a legit demo, but again not really new to most. Sounds better than some versions I've had. 15) TMLWKY (Queen - Freddie Version): This is an edited, reworked, but legit demo previously appearing on "The Unobtainable Royal Chronicle, Vol. 2". I've nerver heard the full version. 16) TMLWKY (Demo): Ah, the Bellboy Tape! Nice. 17) TMLWKY (piano): This was an incorrect master of Brian's official Guitar version which was officially released on a misprinted single. You can find it on "The Unobtainable Royal Chronicle, Vol 2" as well. 18) Dog With A Bone: The studio version. Legitimate, but again not too rare in collector circles. 19) Dog With A Bone: Sounds the same to me...I'll give it a few more listens to be sure. 20: Dog With A Bone: This is that old recording of the recording from years ago with the chatter outro. Personally, I hate the recordings of recording from conventions. They sound like crap. But that's just me. I'll listen to CD5 and give you a report tonight. |

I don't know the whole story behind The Miracle Demos Medley, so if I get a fact wrong, someone please correct me. I have the actual medley, however and it's quite listenable. It gives one a sense of what was going on in the studio as the band recorded songs for The Miracle album. My understanding of the medley was that it was cut together by someone at Queen Productions for a fan club convention (I don't know which one). after that, someone got the original tape or CD it was on and it was subsequently leaked. The copy I have is studio quality, not a recording of a convention broadcast. The medley is 14 minutes long. It's made up of the following bits and pieces, none of which seem complete, but they flow reasonably well. In this order: "My Baby Loves Me" (a few takes removed from "My Baby Does Me") "I Guess We're Falling Out" (which uses the same drum track as "Loves Me"/"Does Me") "Fiddly Jam" (the basis for "Hang On In There", a large portion of which ended up in the finished track) "A New Life Is Born" (more of the track that was used at the intro to "Breakthru" "I Want It All" (an instrumental demo heavy on the guitar) "Chinese Torture" (only the first part of this appears, before it cuts out abruptly). I've played this on occasion on my Queen Radio station: link (yeah, shameless plug, I know, but it's free to listen to). As to where to get the medley, I don't know. A friend gave me a copy, so I guess it's floating around out there. Someone here might post it someday. There's no official material on it. |
EdFredrick 06.01.2008 15:26 |
Thanks rhyeking!! I think might have the "New life is born" from this medley, starting out just like the "Breaktru" into and into something similer to this version. Thanks for the info on this demo. It nice to know this so even it I find only parts of it I can better guess what is real from these sessions. I will definitely keep and eye out for the complete uncut one tho! |

From all that Miracle Demos medley, I´m only missing "My Baby Loves Me" (I already listened to it, but don´t have it), and "Chinese Torture"... All the parts of the medley that I have are MP3 sourced, but I confirm that these songs are quite listenable, the quality is very good, and the some songs are quite good (I love I Guess We´re Falling Out!) |
