It is not the same source. There are two different sources. The master tape version is the new one. To me the old source (mine is 3rd gen)sounds a bit better, more compact, but that's just a matter of taste I guess.
Yes, our old version comes from a different source but above all, it sounds so much better (at least to me). The sound is much much clearer, even though it's probably an x-th generation copy.
