I've been hearing all these advertisements on the radio here in Los Angeles for these guys. I'm thinking since these guys are playing the Kodak theater they must be really good.
I go to their website and listen to the audio portions therein. Are you joking me? How many ways can I say they completely suck? I was horrified listening to the songs.
Who is backing these guys financially to allow them to play these places? Peter Freestone?
I saw them last week, at my local community center theatre, and even that wasn't completely filled out. I'm surprised to hear that they're going to be at the Kodak Theatre.
Well I thought they were pretty good. I definetly had a fun night. I'd have to say Craig Pesco was very good with immitating Freddie's movements and such.

To put your comment into perspective:
I haven't met anyone who *couldn't* blow these guys out of the water.

This is what I don't understand ...... I've never heard a single review say "Pesco has a great voice" or "he sounds like Freddie" but there are people who pass him becuase he has a moustache and does the moves well ......... does anyone who sees this show just want to hear good music???? Or something that does actually resemble Queen if you close your eyes and just listen?? We wont even mention the fact that they tune down, have a guitarist that is 5ft tall (but wears Paul Stanley platform boots to try compemsate), has a muddy/heavy metal effect on his guitar and sounds like a 15 year old kid fumbling on a guitar in his bedroom half the time .... I mean really. It's all hype backed by big promotion $$$.
The thing that really pisses me off about inferior productions like this is that IMO they actually detract from the legacy of Queen. If they think this is a true representation of what Queen was like live they are sorely mistaken. They detune every song and it's obvious they're using backing tracks.

As you may think so, I did not only pay attention to his moustache and movements. If I were to talk about how they sounded, I would say Craig does have a good voice, but it does not sound like Freddie's. Maybe a tiny little ounce of it is Freddie-esque but I wouldn't say it was spot on. Second of all, I don't care about how tall the guitarist was. It doesn't affect his guitar playing at all. Look at Angus Young. He's somewhere around 5'1 or something. And I wouldn't be so harsh about him either. I thought he was quite okay. And if you want to critisize the sound of his guitar, talk to the real Brian May. In case you didn't notice, it was a Red-Special model.

Red Special does not a Brian May make.. believe you me, I've done it myself - gotten up and had no chance to set my sound up, and it sounds like total dogs-balls!!
omg! I can't believe I spent my money to go see these guys!! 95 dollars for shit!! lol I couldn't get to their site before I bought the tickets and now...ugh...yeah they don't sound too good, but maybe they MIGHT not be so bad..i dont know
