First year of elligibility for Metallica, but that old skank Madonna gets it first, huh?
Still no Genesis, no Rush, no Heart, no Depeche Mode, no Alice Cooper, no Jethro Tull, no Deep Purple, no Meat Loaf, and that just to mention a few.
Depeche Mode. That was funny, Jingles, sneaking that in like that... sly.
Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull, all british bands. The RNR HOF refuses to believe that the better 70s music came from overseas.
Frickin Lynyrd Skynyrd is in. For what? 3 chords?
I hate U2 (not really!)
I think it's a bit of a joke. They know people will be angry at this. Madonna is one of the greatest pieces of satire in the world. Like a Virgin? h0h0. Hilarity ensues.
god you people can be so petty
everyone knows Madonna is a rock n roll icon
you dont hear no flutes in her damn songs
nope just soaring guitars, steady drums and supporting bass lines....
shame on you for not recognizing true rock n roll talent....the whole basis for the rnr hall of fame
now if you excuse me its time to rock....where is that CHIC album????
Spinal Tap need their own hall.
U2 aren't seriously in that thing before Deep Purple are they??! Christ... I just have to ring Satan and tell him to turn the heater on.
Madonna represents everything that's wrong with music since the beginning of the MTV era.
Sure, music has always used image in order to sell (just look what it did for Elvis), but once MTV and Madonna came along, it jumped to another higher level of mediocrity. No longer was talent needed in order to succeed. The only thing needed was a good producer, a good manager, and an image appealing enough to create media hype.
I'll agree by saying that Madonna is indeed a genius, even though the woman doesn't know jack shit about music. She knows perfectly well how to manage her own image in order to always remain in the spotlight.
"In all honesty, Ringo doesn't deserve it. He just hasn't left anything remarkable to consider an induction."
He did a damn sight more than some of the actual inductees.... not that I condone the induction of anyone who shouldn't really be in there.

That I agree with.
We shouldn't bother with the RnRHF anymore. Even though I think their music is a pile of turd, The Sex Pistols were right on by saying it was a "piss stain". link

He's the biggest sourpuss in the music bizz. Together with Boy George and Elton. And a hypocrite too btw. Remember the crap he made AFTER(and with) the Sex Pistols? He went all POP. xD What a twat.
Well he certainly lost a lot of cred once he started having expensive gigs. As I said in some other thread... way to invalidate your world view of years gone by, Johnny!
Ringo-rama?
Sorry.
I've seen the Ringo tour a few times and was even lucky enough to be a guest at two during the 2005 one. It seems that everyone playing with Ringo is quite humbled by the experience and he still garners much respect in the music community. And he did blow Sheila E away during their last drum jam I saw.
It's too bad, because if being a truly nice guy and actually trying to connect with his fans was a qualifier, he'd be a shoo-in. Unfortunately, I think "The Hall" looks at his career after The Beatles as campy. They probably don't even know how involved in childrens TV he currently is either.
