Some time ago it was anounced that there would be a series of Flash Gordon. The series is now well in their first season, but the song used in the teaser-trailer is not featured in it.. I did find the version used in the trailer. link (in the playlist on the right) link
The new intro is kind of interesting, but the song sounds too "emo" for my tastes overall. The singer lacks the power of Freddie and the guys screaming "FLASH! AAAAAHAAAAAAH!" into the mics, and the bass just doesn't pound hard enough.
I consider "Flash" to be one of the better 1980's "experimental" songs, and believe it or not, I think much of today's techno owes a lot to it. This cover, eh, not as bad as a lot of Queen covers I've heard (but that might just be because everyone wants to cover Bo Rhap), but nothing spectacular either.
Speaking of the Flash theme, I was attending a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game a couple weeks back & towards the end of the game the Phillies brought in a relief pitcher, Tom Gordon.
The team annd the announcers have referred to him as Flash the last two years since joining the team. Well, when they brought him into the game I started to hear a familiar beat playing & a resounding FLASH, AHH AHH!!!! That was very cool to hear it pumping through the stadium sound system. It played for about a minute.

That's Flash's enterance music, like how Trevor Hoffman comes in to Hell's Bells.
