I've got a new family in my school from Burma. They don't speak any English and to say the least, I'm having trouble talking with the father and the uncle of the children. We've been drawing pictures back and forth so far but it's getting frustrating for them. I have not been able to locate a Burmese translator in my area yet soooooooooooooo........I turn to my QZers who always save my ass.
Please help. :)
Lisser, this aint much to start with but its all I could find so far link
At least you know how to write the days of the week in Burmese now. If I find anymore I'll let you know, ok
Dave
I also found this site. link
In this site you will find an online dictionary for English to Myanmar (the new name for Burma)
Hope that helps as well
Dave
Thank you! But I've found through some research so far that the USA is not recognizing the new name the militia government has given the country. Most other UN countries are not recognizing it either bc their government refuses to acknowledge the violation of human rights that happens there.
I'm still reading up on the country though but thank you so much for the links!!!!

211 isn't able to locate any "certified" Burmese translators. They were nice as always but that's not really their forte I'm told. I'm going to call the Burmese Embassy in Washington D.C. tomorrow. Someone has got to help me talk to this family. I think this family was granted assylum bc they are absolutely here legally. They came in with all sorts of legal paperwork so that means someone out there can help me.
Thanks Paulie though! :)
no attache offices in your area?
did you try the online translation sites-
found a burmese one....aint free but maybe that work although dont know if instant or not
