Does anyone remember the website with the professional photos from New York 74, San Diego 77, Toronto 77 (Feb 1 and Nov 21), and Toronto 78? Each file has about 20 thumbnails in it, on a grey background. I'd like to include them on my website. I do have the files on my hard drive, but I'd prefer to link to the website of origin so the photographer(s) can be credited.
Hope someone can help!
OK. I wanted to do an "Unknown footage analysis".I wanted to do it with a lot of photos , analysing every bit.I asked some experts about some informations.I got no respond.I'll try say what I want as simple as I can. Before you'll respond to this please check what I said.
1.From ALL the pictures what we have from Queen and Queen 2 tours we can see that Roger is using ONLY ONE TOM on his drum kit.
He started using two Toms on the Sheer heart attack tour.
2.From ALL the pictures what we have from Queen and Queen 2 tours we can see that the microphone from Roger's bass drum is on the left side of the bass drum(except the photos from the Rainbow gig ,where there are two microphones on the center- I think because of the recordings-, and the photos from New York where the microphone is on center.
Never before the Sheer heart attack tour we can not see(on pictures) the bass drum's microphone on the right side of the bass drum.
Never from the Sheer heart attack tour onward we can not see(on pictures) the bass drum's microphone on the right side of the bass drum.
From the "Preston" footage we can see that Roger is using two toms;the microphone is on the right side.
I think that that footage is from a Sheer heart attack tour concert and not a Queen 1 tour concert.
If there is something wrong with what I said I will be happy to know.
All opinions are welcome.
All good reflections Fmarton, but I think that what we can see on those footages is too little to say from where they come from. The visual evidence (photos and footages)that we have of Queen early days are too much little to have exact references.
Moreover we cannot surrely say if the first part of that filmed sequence cames from the same gig of the second part.
The first time I saw those footages on Killer Queen documentary I thougt that maybe they came from the legendary Sunbury concert. Surely there are no evidence about this hipothesis. My opinion born in consequence of rumours about that concert footages.
Another hipotesis is that they come from the Rainbow gig in March '74. Even in this case no evidences to prove it.
I made a mistake. I wrote:
Never from the Sheer heart attack tour onward we can not see(on pictures) the bass drum's microphone on the right side of the bass drum.
But I want to say:
Never from the Sheer heart attack tour onward we can not see(on pictures) the bass drum's microphone on the LEFT side of the bass drum.
Great posts... great observations.
Without audio, it'll be virtually impossible to narrow down which show this footage is from. But I can say this much:
Freddie is seen wearing the white Zandra Rhodes outfit on the Rainbow 3-31-74 video, and some other black outfit that doesn't match the "Preston" (we'll call it that for lack of a better name) video. Since on this "Preston" video we see Freddie in two outfits that don't match either of the ones seen in the March Rainbow video, then I can be sure this footage isn't from the Rainbow show, since I highly doubt Freddie changed his outfit three times during a single show that early on!
We haven't seen pictures from many SHA tour shows. Perhaps he dressed up for the Rainbow shows because he knew they were being filmed, and didn't wear the Rhodes outfits for smaller gigs. So, we can't rule out the possibility of this footage being from a SHA show, which coincides with Fmarton's drum mic observations.
