Ok, am I the only one, for exception of about two people who actually like Journey? lol Same thing with Bon Jovi and Foreigner. I feel like I'm the only one, but maybe it's just me. I don't know. Any Journey fans here? Bon Jovi? Foreigner? lol |

Journey, Foreigner, and Bon Jovi are guilty pleasures of mine. But since we're on the topic, I couldn't help but posting this: link |

Love Journey!! LOVE THEM! Foreigner is great too and Bon Jovi is a fav of mine as well. I'm a child of the late 70s and 80s. I saw Def Leppard and Journey last summer in Cincinnati with JSS fronting, it was an excellent show! This summer Def Leppard came to Cincinnati with Styx and Foreigner but I was not able to go but I heard the show was awesome. I'm pissed I missed it. |

Journey and Foreigner had great hit singles, but in all honesty there's not much to look past the radio hits. All you need to own the greatest hits album, and that's just as good as they get. |

I think they dumped Jeff Scott Soto to pave the way for Steve Perry's return. Given the juice they got from Don't Stop Believing being the final song on the Sopranos, it seems they realize this is the time to reunite. Nothing confirmed as yet, but expect an announcement soon re: Perry. |

That was Deen singing the high notes, NOT JEFF. That was the reason for letting him go. In fact "going different directions" is band-speak for "dude, you're just not hitting it." Rumour has it, since the Sopranos paycheck, Steve P and J Cain have been in conversations. That is all I have. |

The hangup, as usual, is the Schon-Perry connection. "It's my band" "No, it's my band"... hopefully they can get past that. I know Steve really misses touring and seeing all these 80's bands finding new life. |

It was also a paradox. Jonathan Cain had written the song for the new Babys album. John Waite did NOT like the song. It got ugly. Demands were made. Jonathan left The Babys. He brought his "great song" to Steve Perry and Neal Schon, who crafted into a classic. It was the success of Open Arms that led Columbia Records to demand more ballads. Steve and Jonathan thought that would be great! Neal did not, and the beginning of an even longer fued would begin. Neal wanted to rock and so did Steve Smith and Ross Valory. CBS, Steve P, and Jonathan did not. Three against three. Neal didn't know about Jonathan's stance until after "the vote". The vote to fire Steve Smith and Ross Valory. Next thing you know, Neal has no one to rock with. The beginning of the end. It did give us Randy Jackson, though. |
