These lists are pointless. People vote for who they like, rather than considering which one actually made the biggest impact on popular culture.
Elvis, Hendrix, and Lennon are the biggest three from that list, all making major contributions to popular culture. All the others are at least second in line.

ok, then vote for them...if we want to vote for Freddie, its not really your problem....they're not running for president or anything, its just a poll...meant for FUN.

freddie, there can be only one, im not sure hes better than elvis or hendrix or morrison but hes better than lennon, i wonder why people love lennon that much, he was in the beatles but his voice wasn't phenomenal at all if not ordinary.

If you compare Freddie and Lennon's voices, then yes. Lennon has nothing on Freddie. However, if you look at their cultural and musical impacts, Lennon wins hands down. You just can't trump the Beatle. ;)

So in effect by saying they're fun, you totally agree with what Sir GH said. They're pointless, popularity contests.

because John Lennon was ½ of the greatest song-writing duo of the 20th century.
because he was innovative
because he was unique
because many huge stars (Freddie included) cite Lennon as a major influence and inspiration
because Lennons' solo stuff is way better than Fred's
because YOU clearly haven't bothered to listen to many Beatles albums
and BECAUSE the poll says Rock Icon - Not ROCK SINGER

But what's the point, really? What is a bunch of fans voting for someone going to accomplish?

Aside from writing some of the greatest songs ever written and being part of the band that made the biggest cultural impact of any band past/present/future, John Lennon was a major public symbol for peace.
If not for Elvis, Hendrix, or Lennon we wouldn't have Queen in the first place (at least as we know them) so Freddie would have to be behind the other three.
