I have this, and it's lasted me a few years. Overall, the performance could be a little better, and perhaps deliver some more tremolo, but the horsepower and torque is high and, on a whole, I'd rate the mechanics a B-. Just watch out for a higher mileage, and make sure not to bend the strings too much. I got carried away once and snapped the thing in half. It was easy to replace, and when I contacted the company, they were quick and courteous, a real treat to deal with.
I could say a lot more, but I think it'd be good if you tried it out yourself. Go into a store (they're everywhere, even at Target and K-Mart, which is surprising) and try one out. You won't be disappointed.
Surprisingly, no. I got a really good deal on mine (about $35 US), but the suggested retail price is only $45 US. Of course, the insurance is where it hit the wallet pretty hard, close to double what I paid. Still, it was worth it, and you DON'T want this product without insurance.

C'mon Lester, you paid $75 USD for it, which was an absolute bargain, so quit trying to claim you only paid $35. Sheesh, he writes a book and then gets all high and mighty. Or maybe just high. On M&Ms. ;)
and look at his ebay feedback:-
"top ebayer, absolutely fantastic"
"goods arrived beofre i paid for em"
"wish this guy had more stuff to sell, i'd buy his snot if he sold it...top notch seller"
