This is phenomenal!!! Why can't we have this on DVD? What a great concert! Freddie's voice is in great shape (just listen to Somebody to Love), Roger's and Brian's backing vocals are strong (which wasn't always the case), they play great, and the audience is simply ecstatic. This is what a great concert is all about. Just watch and listen other clips from the same concert.
In my book, this beats We Will Rock You in Montreal hands down (where the audience is so lame, even though the band's performance is very good), and even Live at the Bowl (though the setlist is different, as the Argentina concert is before Hot Space). Selling this DVD, anyone?

I tried watching closely what the crowd was doing in my WWRY DVD. They were jumping up and down, waving their arms around, and screaming. Some people were even waving lighters around. I think I saw some guy with a beach ball.
Crazy!

Yeah... I think the crowd at Montreal was deliberately mixed down and that they weren't particularly lame. In the few shots of the audience, they're going wild.
I know there are parts of the Montreal concert where the audience is good, but that's only during some songs. I remember Freddie teasing them it's ok to stand up and sing. He repeated something to that effect several times during the concert. It's not only the mix.
Alex, how's the quality? How much?

Exactly what I thought all the years. It doesn't sound like a bad audience, but like a wild lot badly mixed. Listen carefully and you hear them scream as a "good" rock audience is supposed to get off, it's the overall ambience that is quiet. Either the mix is stupid or they forgot ambient mics in the first place, and the audience sound comes only from the mics on stage.
Especially during Bri's solo (which for some might be the most boring point of a show - not for me though...) when the spots follow him and light parts of the audience center stage or on the grandstands - they go crazy!
Regarding Freddie's comments, I think it's something he often did to keep them going, not only with quieter audiences.
